The Senior Officer, Tourist Guide Department (TGD), will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient and effective regulation and licensing of Tourist Guides in Singapore. A key objective of this role is to ensure that Tourist Guides operate within our regulatory framework whilst upholding the legislative intent of the Tourist Guides Act and Regulations.

Success in this position will be measured by the accurate and timely processing of licensing applications and renewals, and the provision of effective support for general enquiries. To raise the professionalism and quality of licensed TGs, the Senior Officer will work with his/her peers to support Tourist Guides in capabilities building.

This role is integral to the TGD's vision of “A vibrant community of Tourist Guides from different professions, of different ages, presenting different facets of the Singapore story”.

[What you will be working on]

As a Senior Officer in the Tourist Guide department, you will be instrumental in managing the day-to-day licensing operations. A typical day will involve a dynamic mix of tasks and essential duties:

 

General Enquiries and Support
Respond to and resolve general enquiries from tourist guides and the public regarding tourist guide licensing and regulatory matters.

Licence Applications, Renewal and Licence Status Management
Build expertise in the licencing platform to process new licence applications, renewals and status changes, whilst ensuring compliance with all tourist guide requirements. Responsible for issuance of licence badges to tourist guides.

Knowledge Management
Maintain comprehensive Tourist Guide Department information storage and organise content systematically within the intranet site.

Procurement Operations
Process department’s expenses for various materials and services, including printed TG collaterals, requirements, tourist guide events, and other operational needs. Manage procurement workflows to ensure timely and accurate processing of purchase requests whilst maintaining compliance with organisational procurement policies and procedures.

Ad Hoc Support on Projects
Contribute to projects such as the Travel Agents and Tourist Guides (T2AG) Products Update, including but not limited to sending email invitations to external stakeholders, consolidating product update presentations, and moderating questions during sessions. Support quality assessment audits on Tourist Guide Training Programme conducted by Approved Training Organisations.

[What we are looking for]

- Minimum 5 years of customer service experience, including proven administrative processing skills and experience in handling enquiries, preferably within a regulatory or licensing environment.

- Demonstrated ability to multi-task and manage a high volume of applications and tasks with accuracy and efficiency.

- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.

- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping

- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

- Good written and verbal communication skills.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
