About the role 

As a Senior Network Architect, you'll shape and evolve complex enterprise network environments, working closely with our customers to understand their business and technology needs. You'll design scalable, high-performing LAN and WAN architectures that support changing requirements and align with organisational architecture standards.

Partnering closely with customers, technology leaders and project teams, you'll provide expert architectural guidance, assess network performance and evaluate emerging technologies. You'll translate complex technical concepts into clear, practical recommendations that align technology with customer priorities, support business goals and enable successful delivery.

What you will do 

• Design and document complex LAN and WAN network architectures that meet current and future requirements. 

• Define network architecture within established enterprise architecture principles, standards and policies. 

• Develop clear technical designs, reports and recommendations that outline practical approaches to achieving required outcomes. 

• Advise technology leaders and stakeholders on network needs, system performance and appropriate solutions. 

• Evaluate emerging networking technologies and vendor solutions to identify opportunities to improve or replace existing architecture. 

• Review infrastructure and system designs to ensure quality, consistency and alignment with organisational standards. 

• Provide ongoing technical guidance for existing network environments and network-focused initiatives. 

• Lead technical discussions and communicate complex concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences. 

What you will bring 

• Extensive experience designing and governing complex enterprise network architectures across multi-site environments. 

• Advanced knowledge of LAN and WAN architecture, routing and switching, including technologies such as BGP, OSPF and MPLS. 

• Proven experience developing scalable, highly available and resilient network designs that support business continuity requirements. 

• Strong understanding of network security architecture, including segmentation, firewalls, secure remote access and Zero Trust principles. 

• Experience designing networking solutions for hybrid cloud environments, including Microsoft Azure, AWS or comparable platforms. 

• Knowledge of modern enterprise networking approaches such as SD-WAN, software-defined networking and secure access service edge. 

• The ability to translate complex business and technical requirements into clear architecture standards, roadmaps and solution designs. 

• Experience evaluating vendors and emerging technologies, with the ability to recommend practical and commercially appropriate solutions. 

• Strong technical writing, stakeholder engagement and presentation skills, including the ability to lead design workshops and influence decisions. 

• A relevant tertiary qualification in computer science, technology or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience. 

Desirable 

• Advanced networking certification such as Cisco CCIE or CCNP Enterprise, or an equivalent vendor accreditation. 

• Cloud networking certification such as Microsoft Azure Network Engineer Associate (AZ-700) or AWS Certified Advanced Networking - Specialty. 

• Network security certification or accreditation across technologies such as Fortinet, Palo Alto Networks or equivalent platforms. 

• Architecture certification such as TOGAF, or demonstrated experience working within enterprise architecture frameworks. 

• Experience with network automation and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Ansible, Terraform or Python. 

• Experience across enterprise wireless, data centre spine-leaf networking, network observability or managed service environments.
