takealot.com, South Africa's leading online retailer, is looking for a highly talented Senior Marketing Manager to join our Customer Service & Insights team in Cape Town.

This position reports to the Group Head: Cross-Platform Customer Growth.

Your responsibilities will include:

Brand and communications

• Own the TakealotMORE brand positioning and make sure it shows up consistently across every channel and touchpoint.
• Develop and lead the brand and communications plan, from audience insight through to campaign delivery.
• Work with the Takealot and MrD brand teams so TakealotMORE sits well within through-the-line campaigns.
• Drive new feature launches and build lasting educational content on what makes TakealotMORE different.

Campaigns and acquisition

• Conceptualise, plan and run campaigns that grow TakealotMORE membership, backed by clear targets.
• Own the promotional calendar and make sure it ties into Takealot and MrD plans and wider business objectives.
• Build a deep understanding of each customer segment and use it to shape messaging, offers and channel choices.
• Work with the Product team on launches and customer journeys.
• Work with merchandising and partner brands to improve conversion across TakealotMORE journeys.
• Launch and run joint campaigns with benefit partners and partner marketing teams.
• Work with MrD marketing to cross-sell and reach new shoppers.

Digital and performance

• Work with internal specialist teams on performance media and CRM strategies that grow TakealotMORE.
• Work with the social media team on monthly content planning and paid influencer partnerships.
• Use data and customer insight to decide where to invest, test and scale.

Team, agencies and budget

• Lead, coach and develop a marketing team.
• Brief, manage and hold agencies to account for quality, timelines and results.
• Own and manage the TakealotMORE marketing budget, including planning, allocation and tracking against return.
• Report on campaign and promotion performance weekly and monthly, and give clear recommendations on what to do next.

Qualification & Experience:

• Bachelors degree in Business, Marketing or Communications.
• 7+ years of marketing experience.
• Proven experience in brand and communications planning.
• Proven experience in brand positioning.
• Proven experience in digital marketing, with demonstrable results.
• Budget management experience.
• Experience leading a team and managing agencies.
• Regular interaction at Executive level, with a track record of delivering projects.
