Mandatory Reference Checking Scheme (“MRC”) for Hong Kong
The Mandatory Reference Checking Scheme is a framework to facilitate Authorized Institutions (“AIs”) to bilaterally obtain reference information during their recruitment process for certain positions, such that misconduct information in an individual’s previous employments can be provided to AIs to inform their employment decisions.

China Hong KongJob Responsibilities:
• Conduct credit review, recommendations and approval (with delegated credit authority) to credit proposals of mortgage/secured lending in accordance with the Bank’s credit policies and guidelines as well as in compliance with local regulatory requirements
• Liaise with related parties in ensuring prudent credit evaluation and timely assessment of all secured lending applications
• Assist team head in updating application / approval processing procedures and guidelines for retail secured lending products
• Identify potential credit risk inherent in credit proposals and make appropriate escalation for senior management’s attention as appropriate
• Participate in projects relating to secured lending credit processing and perform relevant user acceptance tests
• Provide support in conducting regular credit review from time to time
• Coordinate and provide administrative support to ensure timely processing and accuracy
• Support frontline and adhere to anti-money laundering and counter terrorist financing controls in accordance with regulatory standards and CNCBI policies
• Demonstrates initiative to go beyond the normal routine and look for new ways to add value
Requirements:
- Degree holder in Business, Finance, Risk Management or related disciplines is preferred.
- Minimum 5-6 years’ relevant experience in credit assessment and processing of retail banking secured lending products with independent delegated approval authority is preferred.
- Good knowledge of retail banking business and operation, banking regulations and compliance, in particular mortgage and secured lending products.
- Good understanding of legal and regulatory requirements on secured lending credit assessment and approval process.
- Self-motivated and ability to work under pressure.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Chinese word processing.
- Good command of both spoken and written English and Chinese (including Putonghua).
