SUMMARY
This position is based in Springdale, Arkansas, and requires team members to work on-site. Relocation assistance is available for eligible candidates.
This position is responsible for managing a portfolio of large, high-volume foodservice accounts within Tyson’s Beef and Pork business. The Senior Sales Account Manager serves as the primary point of contact for multiple customer locations and is responsible for maintaining strong customer relationships, supporting business growth, and ensuring exceptional customer service.
Success in this role requires strong decision-making skills, the ability to navigate complex customer needs, and effective collaboration with cross-functional teams. The position operates in a fast-paced environment where managing multiple priorities, resolving issues, and balancing customer expectations with business objectives are critical to success. These decisions are often time-pressed and most often have significant impact on overall market psychology, pricing, and positioning within the meat industry.
Tyson Fresh Meats is a market leader within the meat industry; therefore, this person must convey the knowledge and confidence in pricing market trends and product knowledge to be successful in this very dynamic environment while maintaining Tyson company policies. This role plays an important part in protecting existing business, identifying growth opportunities, and supporting Tyson Fresh Meats' commitment to operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage a portfolio of large, high-volume foodservice accounts, serving as the primary contact for customer relationships, business needs, and account support activities.
Build and maintain strong partnerships with customers by understanding their business operations, addressing challenges, and delivering exceptional service.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including customer service, operations, supply chain, finance, and category management, to execute customer strategies and resolve business issues.
Analyze account performance, customer trends, and business opportunities to support growth initiatives and informed decision-making.
Lead account planning, customer meetings, negotiations, and business reviews while balancing customer needs with company objectives.
Provide direction to sales support resources and maintain accurate forecasting, reporting, and account documentation to support operational excellence.
REQUIREMENTS
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent industry experience required.
Experience:
7 years sales experience with 5 years industry sales experience required.
Computer Skills:
Standard computer skills; Microsoft Word Excel Power Point.
Communication Skills:
Strong communication skills. Must be confident in presenting material over the phone and in person.
Special Skills:
Knowledge of Tyson Fresh Meat’s systems, departments, product codes, plant capabilities, and product programs. Proven experience in communicating critical and influential material in a prior sales or equivalent role.
Supervisory:
This person will manage one team member.
Travel:
6-10+ trips per year
