The Senior Manager, Project Management plans, monitors, and manages internal projects from initiation through completion for Aetna's Supplemental Health business. This individual secures required resources and uses formal processes and tools to manage resources, budgets, risks, and changes — ensuring on-time completion according to specifications and within budgeted costs. At this level, the incumbent manages large, multifaceted projects and is working towards or has achieved certification in project management.

Reporting to the Head of Strategy and Chief of Staff, this role owns the development of materials for recurring leadership forums, responds to executive ad hoc requests, and coordinates internal and external reporting across the Supplemental Health organization. This is a high-execution role requiring strong project management discipline, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to synthesize complex information into clear, executive-ready materials.

Responsibilities

Leads development of presentation materials and supporting content for the Monthly Operating Review, Monthly Strategy Review, and other recurring leadership forums, ensuring deliverables are accurate, on time, and executive-ready. Manages ad hoc requests from senior leadership, coordinating across functions to gather inputs, synthesize findings, and produce polished materials under tight timelines. Serves as the cross-functional project coordinator for Supplemental Health, working directly with actuarial, underwriting, sales, operations, product, strategic partnerships, strategy, and technology teams to drive deliverable completion. Owns internal and external reporting processes for the Supplemental Health organization, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timely delivery across all reporting outputs. Plans, monitors, and manages concurrent workstreams from initiation through completion, using formal project management processes and tools to track milestones, manage risks, and escalate blockers. Adapts project management approaches to meet the needs of each initiative, ensuring efficient execution across deliverables of varying size and complexity. Benchmarks deliverable quality and process efficiency against best practices, identifying opportunities to standardize and improve how the organization manages recurring reporting and leadership requests. Advises the Head of Strategy and Chief of Staff on project status, open risks, and prioritization across the Supplemental Health portfolio of initiatives. Acts as a subject matter expert on project management principles and practices, contributing to a culture of structured execution and accountability within the Supplemental Health organization.

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years in a project management, strategy execution, or business operations role within the health insurance industry.
• Must have knowledge of Medical Benefits
• Demonstrated ability to develop executive-level presentations and communications — proficiency in PowerPoint required
• Strong cross-functional coordination skills; ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams and stakeholders across a matrixed organization
• Demonstrated problem solving, decision making, and execution skills in a fast-paced environment
• Strong collaboration and communication skills; ability to translate complex inputs into clear, concise materials for senior leadership

Preferred Qualifications

• PMP certification or equivalent project management credential
• Experience supporting a Chief of Staff, Head of Strategy, or senior executive in a healthcare or insurance organization
• Familiarity with health insurance products, operations, or reporting (Supplemental Health experience a plus but not required)
• Experience working across functions including actuarial, underwriting, sales, and operations

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$67,900.00 - $182,549.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.  This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
