About the Opportunity 

As Senior Manager Northern Victoria, you will provide strategic and operational leadership across a diverse portfolio of mental health and wellbeing services supporting metropolitan, regional and rural communities across northern Victoria. You will translate organisational priorities into strong service, people and community outcomes, ensuring services are responsive to local needs and the changing mental health and wellbeing landscape. Experience in the mental health, community services, health or broader human services sector will support your ability to effectively lead this portfolio. 

Reporting to the General Manager, you will be a visible and connected leader, building trusted relationships with government, health, community and sector partners. You will create collaboration and shared purpose across a geographically dispersed portfolio, supporting strong connections between leaders, teams, services and local communities. 

Your portfolio includes psychosocial supports, PARCs and SRRP services, Local Mental Health and Wellbeing Services and youth residential services. You will bring Wellways’ strategy to life through strong local leadership, service excellence and integrated responses to community need. You will strengthen partnerships and identify opportunities for service development, innovation and growth across the region. 

You will champion lived and living experience, co-production and participant voice, ensuring the people we support are central to service design, decision-making and continuous improvement. You will lead through change and transformation, supporting leaders and teams to navigate complexity, build capability and deliver meaningful outcomes. 

With stewardship of financial performance, governance, risk and resources, you will support sustainable, high-quality services and foster a culture of accountability, wellbeing, inclusion, innovation and continuous improvement. 

You can be based at one of Wellways’ service locations across the region, with regular travel and a strong presence across northern Victoria essential. Your visibility and connection will help you understand local priorities, support leaders and maintain meaningful relationships with participants, families, carers and communities. 

About You 

You are an experienced, values-led leader who combines strategic thinking with strong operational focus. You bring a proven track record leading complex services or portfolios, developing capable leaders and teams, and building partnerships that deliver positive outcomes for participants and communities.

Experience in the mental health, community services, health or broader human services sector will support your ability to effectively lead this portfolio. 

You are confident leading across a geographically dispersed and diverse region, recognising the different needs and opportunities of metropolitan, regional and rural communities. You understand the importance of visible leadership, local connection and creating shared purpose across multiple services and locations. 

You bring experience translating strategy into action, driving service improvement and identifying opportunities for innovation, growth and service development. You are comfortable navigating change and responding to emerging community and sector needs, connecting local opportunities to organisational priorities. 

You build effective relationships with government, health, community and sector stakeholders and use strong communication, influence and collaboration to achieve shared outcomes. You are confident representing Wellways and strengthening our contribution across the region. 

Your leadership approach is grounded in participant-centred practice, inclusion, cultural safety and meaningful integration of lived and living experience. You value local knowledge and diverse perspectives and create environments where these inform decision-making and service improvement. 

You bring strong financial and operational stewardship, with experience managing budgets, resources, performance, governance and risk. You are committed to developing leaders and creating a culture where people have the clarity, capability and support to perform at their best.

  • Current Working with Children Check   and Current NDIS Worker Screening Check - or willing to obtain
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate – Quality Safety and You
