Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced, strategic and hands-on leader to own how technology and data enable our construction delivery organization. 

This role starts with the business. The Senior Manager, Business Tools & Technology will work closely with field, project and functional teams to understand how work actually gets done, identify the most important problems to solve, and design technology and data solutions around real user needs. 

This person will own the path from problem to solution, including defining requirements, shaping our technology strategy, evaluating and implementing solutions, leading pilots, connecting data across the organization, driving adoption, and measuring whether solutions deliver meaningful value. 

This is a senior-level individual contributor role on a lean team. We need someone who can set the strategy and drive the work forward. 

What You'll Own 

1. Understand the business and design around the user 

• Develop a deep understanding of our teams, workflows, pain points and unmet needs. 

• Translate real-world use cases into clear business, technology and data requirements. 

• Design solutions around how teams need to work, rather than forcing users to adapt to technology. 

• Stay close to users after implementation to confirm solutions solve the intended problem. 

2. Own the Delivery technology strategy 

• Develop and drive a holistic technology strategy and roadmap for the Delivery organization. 

• Own, manage, assess and evolve our full technology ecosystem, including what we use, why we use it, how tools connect, and where gaps or unnecessary complexity exist. 

• Drive decisions on where to simplify, integrate, enhance, replace, retire or introduce capabilities. 

• Identify opportunities to use technology, automation and AI to improve how we deliver. 

3. Drive solutions from concept through execution 

• Own priority initiatives from problem definition through implementation, adoption and measurement. 

• Bring together business teams, enterprise technology partners and vendors to move initiatives forward. 

• Create clear business cases, requirements, implementation approaches and measures of success. 

• Drive decisions, resolve ambiguity and maintain momentum across complex cross-functional work. 

4. Lead technology pilots and innovation 

• Own the evaluation and piloting of emerging technologies. 

• Define the use case, scope, users, success criteria and measures before launching a pilot. 

• Drive pilots, gather user feedback and evaluate results. 

• Make clear recommendations to scale, modify or stop based on demonstrated business value. 

5. Make sense of our data and technology ecosystem 

• Understand how information is created, captured, connected and used across Delivery. 

• Partner across the enterprise to improve data consistency, accessibility and usability. 

• Create clarity across platforms, integrations, reporting and data sources. 

• Look holistically across people, process, data and technology rather than solving problems in isolation. 

What We're Looking For 

• 8+ years of experience in business technology, digital transformation, technology strategy, business systems, operational excellence or similar roles. 

• Demonstrated experience owning complex technology initiatives from business need through implementation and adoption. 

• Strong user-focused mindset and experience translating business problems into practical technology solutions. 

• Experience evaluating technology portfolios and making strategic recommendations about what to build, buy, integrate, improve or retire. 

• Experience leading technology pilots with clearly defined success criteria and measurable outcomes. 

• Strong analytical skills and comfort working directly with data, systems, integrations and data flows. 

• Proven ability to drive work across functions and influence without direct authority. 

• Strong executive communication skills and the ability to turn complexity into clear recommendations and decisions. 

• Experience succeeding as a hands-on senior individual contributor in a lean, fast-moving environment. 

• Experience with enterprise platforms, analytics, automation or emerging AI technologies. 

Preferred 

• Background in construction, engineering, infrastructure, data centers or another complex operating environment preferred but not required
