Key Responsibilities
- Manage Korean tax compliance, including Corporate Income Tax, VAT, Withholding Tax, and local taxes.
- Prepare and review tax returns, tax calculations prepared internally or by external advisors
- Ensure timely and accurate tax reporting and tax accounting in accordance with Korean tax regulations and applicable accounting standards.
- Oversee tax reporting and provisions for statutory and financial reporting purposes.
- Provide tax advisory support on business transactions, contracts, and restructuring projects.
- Review intercompany transactions and ensure alignment with Korean transfer pricing regulations.
- Coordinate with global tax teams on transfer pricing policies and controversies, BAPA
- Lead tax audits and manage relationships with the National Tax Service (NTS), external auditors, and tax advisors.
- Prepare responses to tax authority requests and coordinate supporting documentation.
- Monitor tax law changes and assess related business impacts.
- Identify tax risks and opportunities and drive process improvements.
- Support tax technology initiatives and automation projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax, or related field.
- 8+ years of experience in Korean taxation, preferably within a multinational company and/or Big 4 environment.
- Strong knowledge of Korean corporate tax, VAT, withholding tax, and transfer pricing.
- Experience managing tax audits and tax authority interactions.
- CPA, CTA, or similar professional qualification preferred.
- Fluent in Korean and English.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
