Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Senior IT Analyst Applications (WD Integrations Techno Functional Analyst) to join our Workday Application Ops -CAT IT Division.

The preference for this role is to be based out of Bangalore – Caterpillar PSN

What You Will Do:

Sr IT Analyst/WD Integrations Techno Functional Analyst plays a key role in guiding the continued design, maintenance, and support of integrations with Workday.

This includes partnering with the integrations management provider to

  • Participates in developing, coding and testing Workday integrations for multiple projects
  •  Participate in preparing technical and procedural documentation required in application system development
  • Maintain and monitor integration schedules, notifications, and performance
  •  Review technical alerts to identify and address impacts to integrated solutions
  • Optimize integration design
  • Also, plays a key role in guiding the continued design, maintenance, and support of the Workday Talent and Performance, Recruiting, Onboarding, CoreHCM, Time Tracking, Payroll and Compensation functional areas.
  • While the Analyst is an integral part of the HRIS, they are the technical subject matter expert determining how we adopt and optimize Workday’s capabilities and design solutions.
  • The Workday Integrations Analyst is also the Tier 2/3 support resource responsible for educating end-users, supporting case management, and responding to time-sensitive inquiries in their respective areas.
  • Conduct working sessions with business users to gather, understand and analyze business requirements for designing, implementing, and maintaining Workday integrations and related processes
  • Provide Consulting services and technical architecture design solutions to business partners on Workday Integrations\
  • Provide techno functional support on integrations within Workday HCM modules with strong experience in Recruiting Core HCM, Payroll, Benefits and Time Tracking
  • Provide subject matter expertise on key business process decisions related to industry and/or functional areas
  • Analyze business process to identify and propose new business process or program changes to address business specific requirements and provide continuous improvement.

What You Will Have:

  • Degree or equivalent experience desired
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field
  •  5-10 years of IT experience and 4-5 years of Workday experience.
  •  Workday Integrations Pro Certification
  • Workday techno functional consultant with experience in business process configuration and integrations in modules, and should also have an experience in Workday Security
  • Strong skills to work with onshore, offshore team model.

 Technical skills:
 

  • Experienced in developing Workday integration tools – Studio, CCW, PICOF, PECI, WECI, EIB, Web services, XSLT, reports, BIRT
  • Knowledge of SQL, Unix, XML, ETL and database technologies
  • Advanced Excel skills: including pivot tables, macros, charts, graphs, linking and formulas
  • Experienced in creating reports and tools

    Desired Qualifications:
     
  • 5 years working experience in HR, Finance or IT
  •  Knowledge of Core HCM, Payroll processes, Benefits and Time Tracking
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with and present to all stakeholders including senior leadership
  • Demonstrated analytical and collaborative skills.
  •  Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Knowledge of Snowflake and SnapLogic
  • Project management experience
  • Prior vendor management or contract service level management
  •  Prior experience supporting a Financially Significant Application
  • Prior experience with SOX Controls
  •  Prior experience with IT General Controls
  • This position requires candidate to work a 5-day -a -week schedule in the office

Application Design, Architecture: Knowledge of application design and architecture principles and practices; ability to utilize application design methodologies, tools, and techniques to convert business requirements and logical models into a technical application design.
Level Extensive Experience:
• Analyzes system requirements and translates them into detailed design specifications.
• Designs complex application architectures that meet performance, scalability, and reliability requirements.
• Evaluates and selects appropriate pattern, components, technologies, and tools for application development; integrates them with technical design.
• Leads application design reviews and walkthroughs to ensure alignment between business requirements and technical solution.
• Troubleshoots complex design issues and provides innovative solutions.
• Prepares technical design documents and blueprints for applications.
Implementation: Knowledge of how to run applications for organizations; ability to implement application software within an organization and help end-users perform specific tasks (ex: accounting or graphic design).
Level Working Knowledge:
• Tracks problems associated with the quality and effectiveness of application software.
• Researches the benefits and drawbacks of an organization's application software.
• Drafts application software usage for the department's needs.
• Provides instant support for end users of application software.
• Implements a specific application software under the supervision of management.

Requirements Analysis: Knowledge of tools, methods, and techniques of requirement analysis; ability to elicit, analyze and record required business functionality and non-functionality requirements to ensure the success of a system or software development project.
Level Extensive Experience:
• Plays an active or leading role in recording and storing requirement documents in various forms.
• Ensures the successful completion of all major activities, tasks and deliverables pertaining to the requirement analysis stage.
• Supervises the advanced use of requirements analysis tools and services, including prototyping and use cases.
• Produces detailed functional and information requirements models and documentation.
• Trains others on requirements walkthroughs and quality reviews.
• Utilizes automated diagramming tools to ensure traceability of requirements.

System and Technology Integration: Knowledge of the features and facilities of systems; ability to integrate and communicate among applications, databases and technology platforms.
Level Extensive Experience:
• Designs and develops applications or technology interfaces and bridges.
• Documents existing best practices for system or technology integration processes.
• Identifies and quantifies risks of proposed alternatives to a system or technology integration initiative.
• Delivers training on major issues, interfaces, considerations and potential pitfalls and risks.
• Discusses with line areas on data, technology and application integration issues.
• Advises others in how to integrate projects across multiple technologies.

System Testing: Knowledge of system and software testing; ability to design, plan and execute system testing strategies and tactics to ensure the quality of software at all stages of the system life cycle.
Level Extensive Experience:
• Verifies the proper flow of transactions across all input, output and storage channels or devices.
• Evaluates interoperability of new systems with existing systems during the beta testing phase.
• Supervises the testing of complex, multi-platform and distributed applications.
