Picogrid is a leading venture-backed defense technology company founded to bridge the decades-long gap between modern technology and the critical demands of national security. Today, we're building the essential infrastructure to unify sensors, autonomy, and operators with our technology deployed in active operations around the world. Our mission is to deliver an operational advantage to secure the United States and its allies.

About the Role

As a Senior Inventory Control Specialist at Picogrid, you will play a key role in scaling and optimizing the materials flow and inventory control systems powering our hardware development and manufacturing operations.

We are looking for an experienced, proactive inventory professional capable of managing complex stockroom operations, maintaining high inventory accuracy, and implementing robust control processes. In this role, you will oversee material receiving, optimize inventory workflows, and ensure manufacturing maintains a continuous, efficient supply of resources. You will collaborate closely with Supply Chain, Quality, and Manufacturing to refine scale-ready ERP workflows, enforce rigorous inventory traceability, and drive operational excellence across our material pipeline.

For a skilled inventory lead, this role offers significant impact and leadership opportunities within a fast-scaling defense technology company.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee receiving, inspection, documentation, labeling, and strategic material placement across stockroom and warehouse locations.

  • Maintain high transactional integrity within Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems.

  • Design, implement, and maintain efficient stockroom layouts and materials flow procedures to maximize space utilization and picking throughput.

  • Lead robust cycle count programs, root-cause variance analyses, and reconcile inventory discrepancies.

  • Establish streamlined kitting, staging, and material replenishment protocols to ensure smooth handoffs to production lines.

  • Enforce material traceability and serialization standards across receiving, storage, and assembly phases.

  • Partner with Quality Assurance to manage Non-Conforming Material and NCR processes, vendor returns, and incoming quality holds.

  • Support shipping, receiving, and other material handling activities as needed.

  • Follow established receiving and inventory procedures while providing feedback on opportunities to make them better.

  • Work closely with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Operations to keep materials moving and support changing production priorities.

  • Author, refine, and standardize Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for inventory control, materials receiving, and warehouse operations.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in inventory control, warehouse management, or material flow operations within a technical or manufacturing setting.

  • Experience receiving, storing, picking, counting, and moving physical inventory.

  • Demonstrated proficiency with enterprise ERP/MRP platforms (e.g. Acumatica, NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or similar) for inventory tracking and transaction management.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate recordkeeping.

  • Ability to stay organized while balancing multiple priorities.

  • Willingness to perform hands-on warehouse, receiving, and material handling work every day.

  • Ability to recognize problems, communicate them clearly, and help drive them toward resolution.

  • Proven track record of managing cycle counts, auditing inventory accuracy, and performing root-cause analysis on material discrepancies.

  • Strong understanding of material traceability, serialization, and lot control principles.

  • Ability to lift and move materials consistent with warehouse and receiving responsibilities.

  • Ability to meet the export control requirements outlined below

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in aerospace, defense, electronics, robotics, automotive, or another hardware manufacturing environment.

  • Experience in a low-volume, high-mix manufacturing environment.

  • Experience working at a startup or growing hardware company.

  • Familiarity with production material control, kitting, work orders, or manufacturing support.

  • Experience working with serialized, lot-controlled, or otherwise traceable inventory.

  • Experience performing cycle counts and resolving inventory discrepancies.

  • Experience helping improve warehouse layouts, inventory organization, receiving processes, or SOPs.

  • Experience participating in ERP/MRP system integrations, migrations, or major workflow enhancements.

  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing methodologies, 5S practices, or continuous improvement frameworks.

Compensation

  • Starting pay: $38.00–$45.00 per hour.

  • Significant stock options with high potential upside as an early-stage company.

  • 401(k) with employer matching.

  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage for you and your family

  • Free EV charging at HQ
