About Ridgeline
Ridgeline is the industry cloud platform for investment management. Founded by visionary entrepreneur Dave Duffield (co-founder of both PeopleSoft and Workday), Ridgeline is the first front-to-back system of record for investment managers, using real-time data and embedded AI to help firms automate complexity, accelerate collaboration, and grow with confidence — without adding headcount or risk. Ridgeline is headquartered in Lake Tahoe, with offices in Reno, the Bay Area, New York, and Dublin, Ireland, and has been recognized by Fast Company as a "Best Workplace for Innovators," by Frost & Sullivan as a "Technology Innovation Leader," and by The Software Report as a "Top 100 Software Company."
Why This Role Exists
Ridgeline's Finance team is rebuilding how a fast-growing company runs its books — swapping manual, error-prone work for clean data, tight integrations, and real automation. In this role, you'll be the hands-on owner of our accounting and planning systems, responsible for keeping them configured, connected, and running the way Accounting and FP&A actually need them to. You'll also help push Finance to operate as a genuinely AI-first team — using tools like ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Glean alongside our core platforms to cut out repetitive work and get the business better answers, faster.
At Ridgeline, how we work matters as much as what we build. Ridgeliners act like owners, choose growth over comfort, and communicate with transparency. We assume positive intent, bias toward action, and bring solutions — not just problems. We celebrate wins, learn from setbacks, and thrive in a resilient, collaborative, high-performing culture. If this excites you, we'd love to meet you!
You must be work authorized in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship.
This is a hybrid in-office position that requires a minimum of 3 days per week onsite in one of the following offices: Reno, NV or San Ramon, CA.
What You'll Do
- Collaborate with FP&A and Accounting to understand what's actually slowing them down, then turn that into reporting, workflows, or system changes that fix it.
- Serve as the primary administrator of Ridgeline's accounting and planning systems: configuration changes, integrations, user access, and day-to-day upkeep.
- Design and maintain the dashboards leadership and the broader Finance team rely on to track financial and operational performance.
- Rebuild manual, repetitive Finance processes as automated workflows, using SQL, Python, and AI tools to do the heavy lifting.
- Take ownership of system upgrades and new implementations end-to-end — scoping the work, migrating and mapping data, and validating everything before go-live.
- Be the point person connecting Finance with IT and Data & Analytics whenever a project touches systems, automation, or reporting infrastructure.
- Turn ad hoc analysis into documented, self-service reporting so the rest of Finance isn't waiting on you for every answer.
- Keep an eye out for the next manual process worth automating, and bring both the idea and the solution to the table.
What We Look For
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in financial systems, data analytics, or finance operations.
- Direct, hands-on experience administering or configuring an ERP or financial planning platform, such as Workday Adaptive Planning, Coupa, BlackLine, Sage Intacct, or something comparable.
- Practical experience turning raw data into dashboards and reports people actually use.
- A working knowledge of core accounting mechanics: the general ledger, AP/AR, close cycles, and revenue recognition.
- The ability to sit with an accountant and an engineer in the same conversation and make sense to both of them.
- Real curiosity about putting AI tools like ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini to work on finance problems, not just passing familiarity with them.
- A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, information systems, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
Bonus
- Experience in a high-growth SaaS or technology company.
- Experience in fintech, investment management, or another complex, regulated industry.
- Familiarity with cloud data platforms and with data pipeline/ETL tools.
