Salary for the candidate will be determined taking into consideration a number of factors including: experience, skills, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, internal equity, etc. The salary range presented above is based on a 35-hour workweek and would represent a majority of different candidate profiles. About the role

Our Senior Financial Analyst supports IT&Labs portfolio planning and governance by owning initiative-level budgeting, forecasting, actuals tracking, variance analysis, and benefits realization reporting. This role enables data-driven investment decisions through disciplined financial analysis, clear executive reporting, and strong partnership with IT and Finance stakeholders.

What you'll do here: 

• Support the PFR (Prioritization and funding review) and Budgeting:
  • Collect the various request monthly. Challenge each item and align with the finance team to ensure adequate financial impacts to the IT budget.
  • Prepare appropriate executive presentations in a timely manner.
  • Provide cost estimation support for new and ongoing projects.
  • Track and monitor project financial performance, including budgets, forecasts, and actuals.
  • Review and analyse resource planning and allocation to ensure alignment with financial objectives.
• Financial Analysis and Reporting:
  • Need to understand the portfolio movement and proactively bring visibility to financial challenges/recommendations.
  • Collaborate with the various IT stakeholders to manage initiative budgets.
  • Develop detailed financial reports and dashboards for stakeholders and leadership.
  • Analyze financial trends and variances, identifying risks and opportunities.
• Benefits and Risk and Compliance Management:
  • Define, assess, and track financial benefits tied to initiative execution with clear ownership, timing, and measurement approach.
  • Maintain audit-ready supporting documentation for assumptions, approvals, and benefit calculations.
  • Lead benefits discussions and support documentation requirements as needed, including post-implementation benefit tracking vs business case.
• Stakeholder Collaboration:
  • Partner with finance teams, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure financial alignment.
  • Act as a liaison between IT stakeholders and business sponsors on various matters that are led by the IT&Labs group.
  • Communicate financial findings in a clear and actionable manner.
  • Act as a strategic finance partner to Finance, IT product owners, delivery leads, and business sponsors to drive investment decision-making.
  • Translate financial analyses into clear decisions/trade-offs (scope, timeline, funding, capacity) for senior leadership.

• Process and Tools Improvement:
  • Standardize and improve portfolio financial processes: business case templates, costing standards, benefit taxonomy, and forecasting cadence.
  • Improve automation and data quality in reporting (Excel / Power BI), and evaluate tooling to streamline forecasting and benefits tracking.
  • Enhance financial tracking processes and tools to improve accuracy and efficiency.
  • Evaluate and implement financial management tools to streamline reporting and analysis.
  • Support the IT & Labs team in defining and maintaining financial standards and templates.

What you bring to the table: 

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration or any combination of equivalent education and experience.
• CPA designation or progress toward CPA (preferred).
• 5+ years of experience in FP&A, financial analysis, or project/portfolio finance (ideally supporting technology investment portfolios).
• Demonstrated experience creating investment business cases / cost-benefit analyses, including benefit quantification and ROI/NPV/payback modeling.
• Strong understanding of Capex vs Opex and how technology spend flows through financial statements.
• Advanced Excel financial modeling skills (scenario analysis, sensitivity tables, structured models); Power BI/Tableau for executive dashboards.
• Ability to challenge assumptions, simplify complex financial topics, and influence decisions with data.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a financial focus.

• Experience with financial reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• High level of attention to detail and financial accuracy.

• Ability to interpret complex financial data and communicate insights effectively.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
• A proactive approach to identifying and resolving financial issues.
• For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English-speaking colleagues across the country.
• No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.
