About the Role
Reporting to the Exploration Manager, the Senior Exploration Field Supervisor leads the safe and efficient delivery of gold exploration and resource definition drilling programs. Responsible for supervising field crews and contractors, the role oversees drilling support, earthworks, access, sampling and rehabilitation while working closely with geologists to ensure programs remain productive, compliant and on schedule.
Working on an 8 days on, 6 days off roster and drawing on extensive experience in near-mine and remote exploration environments, you will provide strong leadership across contractor management, safety, environmental and heritage compliance, maintaining high operational standards in line with company procedures and WHS legislation.
Responsibilities include:
- Lead and supervise exploration field crews and contractors across drilling, sampling, earthworks and rehabilitation activities, fostering a strong safety culture and ensuring programs are delivered safely, compliantly and on schedule.
- Coordinate personnel, equipment, vehicles and contractor mobilisation, monitoring performance and ensuring all required inductions, documentation and risk assessments are completed.
- Maintain accurate field records, track progress and provide updates on performance, risks and operational constraints.
- Manage sample handling, security and dispatch processes, ensuring chain-of-custody standards are maintained.
- Support the establishment and operation of remote field camps, including logistics, communications, supplies and emergency readiness.
Requirements
About you
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- Extensive experience in exploration field operations within the mining industry, including drilling, sampling and QA/QC processes.
- Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills, with experience managing contractors, field logistics and core yard operations across multiple active work areas.
- Sound knowledge of WHS legislation, remote field safety practices, earthworks, rehabilitation and heritage compliance.
- Current unrestricted C Class Manual Driver's Licence.
- Schedule 26 (Statutory Supervisor) qualification.
- LR/ MR /HR Driver's Licence, Forklift Licence highly regarded
- Knowledge of RC, AC and Diamond drilling programs, remote area operations, GIS and field data capture systems is advantageous.
