JOB DESCRIPTION:

YOUR ROLE AS A:

Senior Executive, Jira Technical Specialist
You will be the core custodian and technical powerhouse behind our Atlassian ecosystem. You will blend hands-on project delivery with day-to-day L2/L3 support, driving seamless end-to-end Jira implementations and automations. If you love crafting custom workflows, automating business logic with advanced scripting, and empowering teams across the business to collaborate faster and smarter with uncompromising accountability and urgency, this role is for you.

WHAT YOU’LL CHAMPION:

• Proactively design, configure, and optimize the Jira Service Management (JSM) Assets / Insight database structure (object schemas, attributes, references, and object types) to establish a highly reliable Configuration Management Database (CMDB).
• Drive the automated discovery and seamless import of Configuration Items (CIs) into the Jira CMDB from external sources using REST APIs, discovery tools, and integration plugins.
• Integrate CMDB CIs directly with JSM incident, problem, change, and request management workflows to power automated impact analysis, root-cause investigations, and rapid change approvals.
• Lead end-to-end Jira and Confluence project implementations, migrations, and instance consolidations with total ownership and speed.
• Take decisive technical ownership of daily L2/L3 operations across Jira Software, JSM, and Confluence—ensuring strict SLA compliance, zero-compromise ticket discipline, and relentless urgency in driving issues to resolution.
• Architect, configure, and maintain high-performing customized Jira spaces, issue types, custom fields, screen schemes, permission schemes, and robust workflows tailored for business execution.
• Engineer, debug, and maintain custom scripts using ScriptRunner or Python to automate critical business logic and process triggers.
• Integrate Jira seamlessly with third-party enterprise tools via REST APIs and Webhooks to eliminate process gaps.
• Build and govern advanced Jira Automation rules to optimize team productivity, enforce operational accountability, and reduce manual effort.
• Manage system administration tasks, including plugin evaluations, version upgrades, security patch implementations, license management, and performance tuning.
• Establish and strictly enforce user governance policies, SOPs, and operational best practices for Atlassian tools across the organization.
• Conduct technical onboarding and training for site administrators and engineering leads, fostering a culture of high performance and ownership.
• Ensure the long-term integrity and accuracy of the CMDB by implementing rigorous governance, regular audits, and validation processes for all configuration item data.

WHO YOU ARE:

• Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Bring 4–6 years of hands-on experience in Atlassian administration, project implementation, and technical support.
• Well-versed in scripting languages such as ScriptRunner (Groovy), SIL, Python, or JavaScript for workflow automations.
• Deep hands-on experience designing and managing JSM Assets (formerly Insight) schemas, object mappings, CI relationships, and CMDB automations. 
• Solid understanding of ITIL processes (specifically Configuration and Asset Management) and how CIs link to Incident, Change, and Problem Management. 
• Deeply experienced with Atlassian Cloud / Data Center environments, Jira Service Management, CMDB management and Confluence.
• Strongly proficient in building and consuming REST APIs, JSON data formats, and Webhooks for system integrations.
• Familiar with relational databases/SQL querying and basic Linux/Unix environment administration.
• Atlassian Certified Professional or ITIL v4 Foundation certification is highly desirable.
• A proactive leader with a strong 'bias for action', demonstrated success in leading teams through high-pressure critical incidents, and an uncompromising stance on accountability, discipline, and execution.
