Senior Executive-IT

Job Description

The IT Support Executive is responsible for providing first-level technical support and ensuring the smooth operation of the organization's IT infrastructure. This role involves troubleshooting hardware, software, network, and application-related issues, managing IT assets, supporting backup and recovery processes, and maintaining system performance. The incumbent will assist end users with technical concerns, perform routine system maintenance, support IT security initiatives, and ensure timely resolution of incidents through effective ticket management. The position requires strong problem-solving skills, customer service orientation, and the ability to work collaboratively with internal teams to maintain a reliable and secure IT environment.

Key Responsibilities – IT Support Executive

Technical Support

ØProvide first-level technical support to end users for hardware, software, network, and application-related issues through phone, email, remote access, or in-person assistance.

ØDiagnose and resolve issues related to desktops, laptops, printers, peripherals, and business applications.

ØInstall, configure, and maintain IT hardware, software, and operating systems.

ØProvide first-level support for laboratory instruments and related software/applications.

Incident Management

ØLog, track, and manage support requests through the ticketing system, ensuring timely resolution and user satisfaction.

ØEscalate unresolved or complex issues to higher-level support teams while maintaining proper follow-up and communication.

System Maintenance

ØPerform routine system maintenance activities, including software updates, patch management, antivirus scans, and system backups.

ØMonitor system performance and proactively address issues to minimize downtime and operational disruptions.

ØAssist in the deployment, setup, and configuration of new IT systems and equipment.

User Training and Support

ØProvide guidance and training to users on software applications, IT tools, and best practices to improve productivity and security awareness.

ØCreate and maintain user documentation and troubleshooting guides as required.

Network and Security Support

ØAssist in troubleshooting network connectivity issues, including LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, and VPN-related problems.

ØSupport the implementation and enforcement of IT security policies, standards, and procedures to safeguard organizational data and systems.

Asset Management

ØMaintain accurate records of IT assets, including hardware, software licenses, and accessories.

ØSupport the procurement, deployment, tracking, maintenance, and retirement of IT equipment.

Backup and Restoration

ØConfigure, monitor, and manage backup solutions to ensure reliable and successful data backups.

ØVerify backup job completion and resolve any backup-related failures or errors.

ØPerform regular backups of critical systems, applications, and data across physical and virtual environments.

ØExecute data restoration activities as required and conduct periodic restoration testing to validate recovery objectives.

ØTroubleshoot and resolve issues related to backup and recovery processes.
