2 Role summary

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer with expertise in software, data and AI, especially Generative AI, at an enterprise level. You will design and build production-grade systems, work directly with client stakeholders to deliver technical solutions they trust, and mentor engineers earlier in their careers. This is a hands-on build role with room to grow into technical leadership.

2.1 Responsibilities

• Data and AI engineering: Design, develop and deploy solutions built around data, machine learning and Generative AI to drive actionable business outcomes.

• Software engineering: Design, implement and deploy software solutions, including the data integrations that feed AI.

• Generative AI projects: Contribute to initiatives using Generative AI to solve complex client challenges.

• Engineering process: Follow and champion repeatable, scalable engineering processes. Feed customer insights back into our product roadmap.

• Quality: Own the quality of your own work. You are a senior line of defence before it reaches the client.

• Client delivery: Work directly with client stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver technical solutions they trust.

• Mentorship: Mentor engineers earlier in their careers. Review their work, support their development, and help hold the bar on delivery quality.

3 What you bring

3.1 Required experience

• 5+ years in technology engineering, including hands-on experience in software and cloud.

• Demonstrated ability to design and ship production software independently, with minimal oversight.

• Experience mentoring or supporting the development of engineers earlier in their careers.

• Strong command of Python and experience with strongly typed languages, infrastructure-as-code and containerisation.

• Ability to communicate technical solutions clearly to non-technical stakeholders.

3.2 Preferred experience

• Demonstrated delivery of AI/ML engineering projects and the data solutions that feed them.

• Startup or scaleup experience in a fast-paced technology business.

• Exposure to DevOps, networking or adjacent engineering disciplines.

• Experience with modern data platforms: Snowflake, Databricks, AWS, Azure or GCP.

3.3 Your traits
