The Senior Director partners closely with executive leadership to ensure programs drive business outcomes, enhance associate engagement, and reflect the organization’s mission and culture. This leader oversees complex program design, vendor ecosystems, and enterprise-wide wellbeing initiatives, while mentoring senior team members and shaping long-term strategy.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Enterprise Strategy & Innovation
- Lead the development of a forward-looking, enterprise-wide benefits and wellbeing strategy aligned with organizational growth and workforce trends.
- Identify emerging market trends and introduce innovative solutions that enhance competitiveness and associate experience.
- Integrate benefits, wellbeing, and total rewards into a cohesive, differentiated value proposition.
Program Leadership & Design Oversight
- Oversee the strategic design and optimization of all benefits programs (health, welfare, retirement (401k and NQDC plan), and ancillary offerings).
- Ensure alignment of programs across business units while allowing for scalability and flexibility where needed.
- Guide senior team members in program development and execution.
- Oversee and maintain strong vendor management with all benefits partners.
Wellbeing Strategy & Impact
- Establish a comprehensive wellbeing framework with measurable outcomes tied to engagement, productivity, and retention.
- Lead enterprise wellbeing initiatives addressing physical, emotional, and financial health.
- Drive a culture of wellbeing in partnership with HR and business leaders.
Governance, Compliance & Risk Management
- Provide executive oversight of compliance with all benefits-related regulations.
- Ensure governance practices, audits, and controls are in place to mitigate organizational risk.
- Serve as escalation point for complex compliance or regulatory matters.
Financial Strategy & Cost Management
- Direct long-term financial planning for benefits programs, including cost modeling and forecasting.
- Balance cost containment with competitive positioning and associate needs.
- Partner with Finance to ensure fiscal discipline and ROI tracking.
Leadership & Talent Development
- Lead and develop a team of managers and senior professionals.
- Build leadership bench strength within the benefits and wellbeing function.
- Foster a culture of accountability, growth, and continuous improvement.
Executive Partnership & Influence
- Act as a strategic advisor to senior leadership on total rewards, wellbeing, and workforce trends.
- Present insights, recommendations, and program outcomes to executive audiences.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to align benefits strategy with enterprise priorities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field required.
- 10–15+ years of progressive experience in benefits, retirement (401(k) and NQDC plan, total rewards, or HR leadership.
- 5+ years of experience leading leaders or managing complex teams.
- Demonstrated experience driving enterprise-level programs and transformation initiatives.
Preferred:
- Master’s degree (MBA or related field).
- CEBS, SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or equivalent certification.

- Strong enterprise mindset with ability to influence at senior leadership levels.
