Key Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of Indonesian corporate income tax and withholding tax, and provide support on indirect taxes, including VAT and other transaction taxes.
- Supporting regional and global tax colleagues in providing technical tax advice to business stakeholders on operational, commercial, and strategic initiatives.
- Lead and manage tax audits, tax authority reviews, and tax controversy matters, acting as the primary liaison with the Indonesian Tax Authority.
- Develop audit strategies, prepare technical position papers in collaboration with functional experts, and negotiate audit outcomes with tax authorities.
- Monitor changes in Indonesian tax legislation and assess potential impacts on the business.
- Support tax risk management, governance, and internal control frameworks.
- Collaborate with regional and global tax teams on cross-border transactions and tax planning initiatives.
- Working with transfer pricing colleagues, review and support transfer pricing documentation, intercompany arrangements, and related tax implications.
- Manage external advisors and consultants where required.
- Support tax reporting and tax provision processes in accordance with local and group requirements.
Qualifications and Experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Bahasa Indonesia and English.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, Law, or a related discipline.
- Professional tax qualification or accounting certification is advantageous.
- Minimum 8–12 years of relevant tax experience, ideally gained through a combination of multinational corporations and/or leading professional services firms.
- Strong experience across both Corporate Tax and Indirect Tax (VAT).
- Demonstrated experience managing tax audits and tax controversy matters from initiation through resolution.
- Proven track record of engaging directly with the Indonesian Tax Authority and other government stakeholders.
- Experience working within a multinational organization and supporting cross-border business activities.
- Solid knowledge of OECD transfer pricing principles and practical experience with a variety of transfer pricing models and intercompany arrangements.
- Experience reviewing transfer pricing documentation and supporting transfer pricing audits or disputes.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
- Shipping and/or logistics industry experience preferred.
