Overview

This role provides specialist expertise on performance fee methodologies across Northern Trust’s Luxembourg Fund Accounting business. It plays a key role in supporting new business, fund launches, model implementation, automation initiatives and governance, while acting as a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders and clients on complex performance fee matters.

Given the complexity of alternative, semi-liquid and hybrid fund structures, the role requires deep expertise in performance fee calculations, regulatory requirements, fund documentation and operational processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the subject matter expert for complex performance fee methodologies and structures.
  • Support fund launches, client onboarding and transitions, ensuring operational readiness.
  • Review fund documentation and client requirements to ensure accurate fee model implementation.
  • Approve performance fee models, calculations and methodology changes.
  • Provide guidance to Fund Accounting, Relationship Management, New Business, clients and senior stakeholders.
  • Identify and manage operational risk, controls and governance requirements.
  • Support automation, process improvement and strategic change initiatives.
  • Partner with Audit, Risk and Compliance on reviews, regulatory matters and remediation activities.
  • Maintain procedures, training materials and best practice guidance.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of Northern Trust's global performance fee operating model.

Skills & Experience

  • Significant experience in Fund Accounting, Performance Fees, Private Markets or Investment Operations.
  • Strong technical knowledge of performance fee methodologies and governance.
  • Experience supporting complex fund structures and reviewing legal documentation.
  • Understanding of relevant regulatory requirements and operational controls.
  • Strong stakeholder management and client-facing experience.
  • Experience leading or supporting change, transformation or automation initiatives.
  • Strong analytical, communication and presentation skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills; relevant professional qualifications preferred.
