We are currently seeking a Senior Civil Engineer/ Team Leader – Land Development with a minimum of 15 years of experience for our Poughkeepsie, NY location. This position is available to an experienced engineer with excellent technical abilities and the drive and desire to make an impact in the Poughkeepsie / Hudson Valley area. This position will require a personable candidate with extensive experience in managing civil engineers and projects. The individual will be responsible for leading design, planning, and scheduling. The successful candidate will provide leadership, mentorship, and design assistance to engineering staff for private development projects, involving all aspects of civil design.
Duties
- Lead the planning, design, and delivery of private development projects.
- Management of multiple projects, schedules and budgets
- Development of detailed site plans from concept through construction
- Storm water management design, water and wastewater design, roadway and parking design and construction detailing and specifications.
- Preparation of inventory assessments, analyses, and reports
- Client representation at municipal boards, meetings, and related events
- Lead a team of engineers, designers, and technical staff, fostering professional growth and accountability.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with private developers, real estate professionals, land use attorneys, municipal, state, and other regulatory agencies, serving as a trusted technical advisor.
- Oversee project budgets, schedules, staffing, and performance to ensure successful delivery and client satisfaction.
- Provide quality assurance and quality control oversight on design deliverables.
- Participate in business development efforts, including public presentations, speaking engagements, networking at events and identifying opportunities to developing proposals and presenting them to clients.
- Collaborate with peers across offices and disciplines to share resources and strengthen technical excellence.
Salary Range: $145,000 - $195,000 per year
The specific salary offered may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate's relevant experience, education, and work location.
Requirements
- B.S. in Civil Engineering
- 15+ years of experience with demonstrated success in a professional consulting environment.
- Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) is required.
- Technical writing, solid verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to interact effectively with clients, project teams, and colleagues.
- Solid CAD design skills and experience with Civil 3D are a plus.
- Experience with SEQRA and municipal site plan approval process.
