About DePuy Synthes

DePuy Synthes, part of Johnson & Johnson MedTech, is a global leader in orthopaedics, helping patients restore movement and improve quality of life. Through continuous innovation, advanced technologies, and deep clinical expertise, we provide surgeons and healthcare systems with solutions that improve outcomes and redefine standards of care worldwide.

Position Overview

The Strategic Capacity Management (SCM) team partners closely with Orthopaedics leadership to develop long-range capacity strategies, identify future supply constraints, and support critical business decisions related to growth, profitability, network design, and capital investments.

The Senior Analyst, Strategic Capacity Management will lead the development, maintenance, and enhancement of advanced digital capacity models that provide an end-to-end view of the supply chain, from raw material manufacturing through finished goods production and distribution.

This role supports key long-range planning processes including Long-Range Portfolio Planning (LRPP) and the Long Range Financial Plan (LRFP) and delivers actionable insights through OMP and other advanced analytical and digital planning solutions.

Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve Strategic Capacity Management models that support long-range planning and enterprise decision-making.
  • Build and manage end-to-end supply chain models incorporating manufacturing and distribution networks, production routings, bill of materials, capacity constraints, inventory policies, and future investment plans.
  • Perform scenario analysis to evaluate capacity expansion opportunities, sourcing strategies, process improvements, network redesign initiatives, and demand uncertainty.
  • Support annual Long-Range Portfolio Planning (LRPP) and Long Range Financial Plan (LRFP) cycles by assessing future capacity requirements and identifying potential supply risks across a 2-to-10-year planning horizon.
  • Partner with Manufacturing, Business Excellence, Planning, Source, Deliver, Engineering, Finance, Product Management, and Value Stream Leadership teams to ensure model accuracy and alignment with business priorities.
  • Translate complex analytical results into executive-ready recommendations supporting decisions related to capacity investments, revenue-at-risk mitigation, service performance, and profitability.
  • Support the expansion and maturity of Strategic Capacity Management capabilities across Orthopaedics and additional product platforms.
  • Develop dashboards, reporting tools, and analytical solutions that increase visibility to capacity constraints, mitigation plans, assumptions, and strategic risks.
  • Drive continuous improvement through governance, process standardization, documentation, and adherence to established planning methodologies.
  • Collaborate with Digital and IT organizations to enhance Strategic Capacity Management capabilities using OMP, Power BI, and other planning technologies.

Qualifications & Experience

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Data Science, Mathematics, Business Analytics, or a related STEM discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in supply chain planning, manufacturing, operations, analytics, simulation modeling, capacity planning, or strategic planning.
  • Experience supporting capacity planning, supply chain analytics, operations modeling, manufacturing systems, or related business processes.
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Experience working with large and complex datasets to develop insights and business recommendations.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams and influence decision-making through data-driven recommendations.

Preferred

  • Master's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations Research, Analytics, Business, or a related field.
  • Experience with planning and analytics tools such as OMP, SAP, Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx, SQL, Python, R, Simio, AnyLogic, or similar technologies.
  • Experience supporting long-range planning, strategic planning, network design, or capacity management processes.
  • Experience working in a global matrix organization and collaborating with geographically dispersed teams.
  • APICS/ASCM, Lean, Six Sigma, or comparable professional certifications.
  • Experience within medical device, healthcare, pharmaceutical, or other highly regulated industries.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 15% as business needs require.

Leadership & Competencies

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong business acumen combined with analytical rigor and strategic thinking. They will be comfortable working with complex supply chain datasets, developing sophisticated planning models, and communicating recommendations to senior leadership.

The role requires strong collaboration skills, intellectual curiosity, attention to detail, and the ability to balance strategic long-term planning with practical business realities. Success in this position will depend on the ability to influence stakeholders through data-driven insights and support strategic business decisions that enable sustainable growth.

Planned Separation of the Orthopaedics Business

Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopaedics business to establish a standalone orthopaedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements, including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as may be required, regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and approvals.

Should you accept this position, it is anticipated that, following conclusion of the transaction, you would be an employee of DePuy Synthes and your employment would be governed by DePuy Synthes employment processes, programs, policies, and benefit plans. In that case, details of any planned changes would be provided to you by DePuy Synthes at an appropriate time and subject to any necessary consultation processes.
