Te tūranga – The role
The Payments Policy team is leading a cross-agency programme of work on payments modernisation to support faster payments, greater innovation, and better outcomes for all New Zealanders. As Senior Analyst you will:

• Engage and collaborate with a range of internal and external stakeholders, across government and industry,
• Contribute to the development of policy to ensure it is practical, robust and fit for purpose,
• Contribute to - and at times lead - analysis, research, and project work to support the development and refinement of policy, regulation, and legislation,
• Provide advice to policy makers and present material to internal working groups, steering groups and advisory groups.

Ō pūkenga – About you

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

• At least four years of professional experience in public policy, regulation, or a related area,
• Relevant professional experience with a tertiary qualification in either economics/finance/law and/or public policy,
• A collaborative approach with the ability to identify and influence key audiences,
• Strong analytical and conceptual skills,
• Excellent relationship management skills and the ability to build and maintain professional relationships particularly with external stakeholders.

The anticipated appointment range for this role is $128,699 to $150,149 (actual salary will be dependent on your skills and experience).
