SECURITY ENGINEER (OT)
SpaceX is looking for a Security Engineer (OT) to join Information Security to help protect and drive the SpaceX mission.
Information drives our business. We must protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems and processes across the enterprise, and defend against loss of control or confidence in our systems.
This role secures Operational Technology (OT) networks that support launch, vehicle, test, and production, including rockets. You will write software, automate on-prem and data center networking, and produce architectures. This is hands-on security software and network engineering.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design, implement, and operate security for OT networks supporting launch, vehicle, test, and production.
- Design network and security architectures and produce diagrams and design documentation.
- Write and deploy software that runs in OT and on-prem network environments.
- Automate on-prem and data center networking.
- Implement network segmentation and access control in OT environments.
- Monitor, detect, and respond to security issues on OT networks.
- Partner with engineering, IT, and site teams.
- Document architectures, standards, and operating procedures.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or another STEM discipline; OR 2+ years of professional experience in security software development in lieu of a degree.
- Experience with Python, Go, C#, C/C++, or Rust.
- Experience designing and implementing security solutions for operating systems, distributed systems, or other enterprise / large-scale infrastructure.
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Shipping and operating services in Python, Go, C++, or Rust.
- On-prem and data center networking.
- BGP and network automation.
- Terraform and Ansible.
- Network and security architecture, including diagrams and design documentation.
- ICS, SCADA, DCS, or other industrial control and OT environments.
- Network segmentation in production OT or industrial networks.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be willing to work extended hours and/or weekends as needed.
- This role requires you to be onsite. Hybrid or remote work will not be considered.
- Ability to pass Air Force background check for Cape Canaveral.
