What would you do? • The Team Lead, Material Master Data (MMD) Management will be responsible for managing day-to-day material master operations, ensuring accurate, complete and timely creation, modification, extension, blocking and maintenance of material master records across business units and geographies. • The role requires strong knowledge of material data attributes, ERP systems, data governance, quality controls and supply chain processes. The incumbent will lead a team of MMD analysts, monitor SLA KPI performance, resolve complex data issues, coordinate with business stakeholders and drive continuous improvement initiatives. • Adhere to the procedures in compliance with Process policies (market specific • Effective communication, stakeholder management and escalation-handling capabilities. • Ability to manage priorities and deliver against defined SLAs and quality standards.
What are we looking for? • 5-8 years of overall experience, with substantial experience in Material Master Data Management operations. • Bachelor s degree in Commerce, Engineering, Supply Chain, Business Administration or a related discipline. • Prior experience as an SME, senior analyst or team supervisor is preferred. • Experience supporting global stakeholders and multiple business units is desirable. • Exposure to transitions, data migration, ERP implementation and continuous improvement initiatives is an advantage. • Strong hands-on knowledge of Material Master Data Management. • • Experience in material creation, modification, extension and maintenance. • • Understanding of material types, material groups, units of measure, product hierarchies and material classifications. • • Knowledge of purchasing, MRP, inventory, sales, costing and accounting views. • • Understanding of duplicate prevention, data quality controls and master data governance. • • Experience in team supervision, workload management, coaching and performance monitoring. • • Strong analytical, problem-solving and attention-to-detail skills.
Roles and Responsibilities: • • Lead daily Material Master Data activities, including material creation, modification, extension, blocking, deletion flagging and maintenance. • • Review and validate material master requests to ensure completeness, accuracy and compliance with defined business rules. • • Ensure accurate maintenance of purchasing, MRP, inventory management, sales, accounting, costing and warehouse-related views based on business requirements. • • Coordinate with requestors to resolve missing information, incorrect attributes, duplicate records and data inconsistencies. • • Ensure timely processing of requests in accordance with agreed SLAs and business priorities. • • Handle complex material master requests and act as the first point of escalation for operational issues. • • Allocate daily workloads and monitor team performance, productivity, quality and turnaround time. • • Conduct team huddles, operational reviews and regular performance discussions. • • Coach team members on material master processes, ERP transactions, validation rules and quality standards. • • Drive data accuracy, completeness, consistency and Right First Time (RFT) performance. • • Maintain appropriate documentation and audit trails for material master creation and changes. • • Support data cleansing, harmonization, standardization and remediation initiatives. • • Manage operational escalations and communicate request status, dependencies and resolution timelines. • • Monitor SLA adherence, request turnaround time, productivity, data accuracy and backlog ageing. • • Prepare and maintain daily, weekly and monthly MIS reports and operational dashboards. • • Track quality scores, error rates, rework, rejection trends and pending approvals. • • Perform root cause analysis for recurring defects, processing delays and SLA breaches. • • Provide timely performance updates and escalate risks to the reporting manager. • • Identify opportunities to streamline material creatio
