About the role  

We are seeking a values-driven Sales Assistant. This position exists to perform customer focused retail tasks that support the daily operation of the store and the missional objectives of The Salvation Army.

This will include the maximisation of sales and productivity to deliver surplus to support Corps and Community Centre activities. The thrift shop also exists as a valued mission expression of the ministry of The Salvation Army.

Reporting to the Thrift Store manager this is a Permanent, Part-Time role, offering 32 hours a week, located in Mooroopna, Victoria. This role will require work on Saturdays, with flexibility around the other days.

How you will make an impact

• Deliver outstanding customer service across the shop floor, fitting rooms and registers.

• Process donations, price stock, and ensure merchandise is presented attractively.

• Maintain store presentation, cleanliness, and visual merchandising standards.

• Support the delivery of store promotions and marketing initiatives.

• Coach and support team members to create a positive and productive environment.

• Follow cash handling, security, and workplace health and safety procedures.

What you will bring

• Relevant retail industry and/or customer service experience

• Demonstrated customer service experience working in a retail environment with an ability to work collaboratively in a team setting

• Sound presentation and communication skills (both verbal and written) with an ability to interact with a variety of people

• Values-Driven: Alignment with the values of integrity, respect, compassion, collaboration, and diversity. 

• Flexibility: The ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a dynamic environment.

• Ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively

• National Police Check

Compensation is in accordance with GENERAL RETAIL LEVEL 3
