micro1 is engaging Robot Wrangler - Operations professionals to contribute to a customer's innovative robotics project. In this role, you'll apply your expertise to help train next-generation AI systems. Your work will shape how models learn, reason, and perform through high-quality, real-world input. No prior experience in AI is required — your domain knowledge is what matters. This opportunity centers around hands-on robotics operation, with a strong emphasis on maintaining and improving robot performance for commercial applications in a dynamic, real-world setting. The engagement will take place onsite in San Francisco, CA, where contributors work in person to deploy, monitor, and maintain robots in an active environment.

Scope of Work

1. Deploy and operate cutting-edge robots in commercial scenarios, ensuring optimal uptime and consistent performance throughout each project day.
2. Closely observe robots as they perform repetitive tasks, identifying bugs, hardware failures, and performance issues, and accurately documenting each issue in Jira for engineering review.
3. Conduct essential robot maintenance, including systematic bring-up and shutdown procedures, while adhering to prescribed safety protocols for all hardware and teleoperation equipment.
4. Maintain organization of the work area, ensuring all equipment and components are managed properly to facilitate a safe and efficient operational environment.
5. Communicate clear, concise written and verbal reports regarding system status, incidents, and improvements to stakeholders and technical teams.
6. Adapt to evolving operational processes, actively suggesting improvements based on daily hands-on and observational experience with the robots.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Demonstrated fine motor control and meticulous attention to detail in repetitive, hands-on environments.
2. Experience following precise instructions and established protocols in technical or mechanical contexts.
3. Proven ability to remain focused and maintain high standards of quality throughout long periods of physical activity.
4. Basic mechanical aptitude — familiarity with robotics, hardware assembly, or maintenance is a strong asset.
5. Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills; comfort with logging issues in platforms like Jira.
6. Physical stamina to manage full days of standing, moving, and handling equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
7. Recent academic background or practical exposure to robotics, mechatronics, or related fields preferred, though not required.
