Overview:

Sentara Leigh Hospital, located in Norfolk, VA, is hiring a full time RN Unit Coordinator in our surgical unit.

Position Overview

• Full Time, 36 hours per week
• Nights 7PM-7AM (eligible for night shift differential)
• Minimum of 18 months of nursing experience is required
• BSN is required

As a Unit Coordinator, you will function in a charge nurse / staffing capacity role at times, but also have alternate tasks ranging from audits, staff schedules, patient experience, and committee work.  If you desire, there are promotional opportunities into additional leadership roles or to advance your level of care in a variety of settings. You will find that teamwork is exceptional, with everyone working together to ensure the best care for our patients. 

5 East at Sentara Leigh Hospital is a 25-bed inpatient post-surgical specialty unit dedicated to caring for adult patients as they recover from a wide range of surgical procedures. Our highly collaborative nursing team works hand in hand with our surgeon teams and other disciplines to coordinate individualized, patient-centered care, support recovery, and prepare patients for a safe transition home. Teamwork is at the heart of our unit, with a strong focus on communication, shared problem-solving, and supporting one another while caring for complex post-surgical patients. Nurses on 5 East develop specialized skills in post-operative assessment, pain management, mobility, wound and ostomy care, and the management of tubes, drains, catheters, and other surgical devices.

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $47.42 - $68.63 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs. Sentara Leigh Hospital, located in Norfolk, VA, is a 274-bed acute care facility that opened in 1903 and relocated to its present site in 1977.
