THE IMPACT YOU WILL MAKE

The Risk Management - Advisor role will offer you the flexibility to make each day your own, while working alongside people who care so that you can deliver on the following responsibilities:

  • Primary Risk Advisor supporting Capital Markets Operations, with a particular emphasis on Payment Operations.
  • Apply deep knowledge of payment processes, industry practices, and the evolving payments landscape to provide credible, practical risk guidance to business leadership and teams.
  • Lead and develop team members in executing risk management activities, providing day-to-day direction, coaching, and subject-matter guidance while serving as a senior point of escalation for complex risks and business questions.
  • Execute core risk management activities, including risk and control assessments, control reviews, issue support, and risk reporting.
  • Partner with business leaders to assess the risk implications of new products, processes, technologies, regulatory changes, and strategic initiatives, translating industry knowledge and risk considerations into clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Effectively challenge business decisions, processes, and controls when warranted, using sound risk judgment, data, and subject-matter expertise to influence outcomes while maintaining strong, collaborative relationships with leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Lead or contribute to cross-functional risk initiatives and improvements, helping strengthen the control environment, enhance risk awareness, and promote consistent risk management practices across Capital Markets Operations.

THE EXPERIENCE YOU BRING TO THE TEAM

Minimum Required Experiences

  • 6+ years of relevant experience in financial services, risk management, operations, payments, or a related field, with meaningful experience in payment operations or payment-related processes.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of payments, including payment flows and processes, operational risks, key controls, regulatory expectations, and industry practices, with the ability to apply that knowledge to a financial-services operating environment.
  • Experience independently assessing business processes and controls, identifying risk implications, and developing practical recommendations to address gaps, emerging risks, and control weaknesses.
  • Ability to influence and effectively challenge business partners and senior leaders, communicate complex risk topics clearly, and use sound judgment to escalate matters when appropriate.
  • Experience leading work, providing direction or coaching to others, and serving as a subject-matter resource within a team or across multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and operate effectively in a changing environment.
  • Shows curiosity and adaptability in learning and responsibly applying new technologies, including artificial intelligence, to reimagine how we work.

Desired Experiences

  • Experience supporting payments within a bank, financial institution, mortgage or capital markets organization, fintech, payment processor, or related industry.
  • Experience with payment-related regulatory requirements, industry standards, or control frameworks, and the ability to translate those requirements into practical business guidance.
  • Experience identifying and leading proactive risk engagements, process improvements, or strategic initiatives that strengthen controls, reduce operational risk, or improve business outcomes.
  • Professional risk, audit, compliance, or payments-related certification or training.
