Staff Shop Manager

Salary: £30’000 per annum
Location: Head Office, Tankersley, Barnsley
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, including one day per weekend.

We’re looking for a Staff Shop Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day running of our colleague staff shop at Company Shop Group Head Office.

This is a unique opportunity to manage a shop that is all about our own colleagues. You’ll be responsible for making sure the shop is well presented, fully stocked and running smoothly, whilst providing a friendly and helpful service to our colleagues every day.

You’ll work closely with the wider Company Shop Group team to make sure we continue to deliver a great staff shop experience and that our colleagues are at the heart of everything we do.

About the role

As our Staff Shop Manager, you’ll take ownership of the day-to-day running of the colleague staff shop at our Head Office.

You’ll be responsible for ensuring the shop is well organised, fully stocked and maintained to a high standard, whilst delivering a great experience for our colleagues.

You’ll need to be hands-on, organised and confident working independently, whilst also building strong relationships with colleagues across the business.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Taking overall responsibility for the day-to-day running of the colleague staff shop.
• Creating a welcoming, friendly and positive shopping experience for our colleagues.
• Ensuring the shop is always clean, tidy, well-presented and maintained to a high standard.
• Managing stock levels, replenishment and availability, ensuring products are available when colleagues need them.
• Monitoring stock and identifying opportunities to reduce waste and minimise losses.
• Receiving deliveries and ensuring stock is stored and managed correctly.
• Ensuring pricing, promotions and product information are accurate and clearly displayed.
• Working with internal teams and suppliers to resolve any issues and ensure the smooth running of the shop.
• Keeping accurate records and completing any required administration.
• Monitoring sales and stock information and identifying opportunities to improve the shop.
• Ensuring all Health, Safety and Environmental policies and procedures are followed.
• Maintaining high standards of food safety, cleanliness and housekeeping.
• Taking ownership of any issues that arise and finding practical solutions.
• Supporting CSG initiatives and promotions within the staff shop.
• Building positive relationships with colleagues and being a friendly and approachable point of contact.
• Working flexibly to meet the needs of the business.

What we're looking for

We're looking for someone who has a genuine passion for retail and customer service and enjoys taking ownership of their area.

You’ll ideally have:

• Previous experience working in a retail environment, ideally with responsibility for running a shop, department or team.
• A strong customer service focus and a genuine desire to give people a great experience.
• Good organisational skills and the ability to manage your own workload.
• Experience of managing stock, deliveries and stock rotation.
• Excellent attention to detail and high standards.
• The ability to work independently and use your initiative.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• A practical, hands-on approach – you’re someone who gets stuck in and gets things done.
• The ability to identify problems and find solutions.
• Good IT and administration skills.
• The ability to work calmly and effectively in a busy environment.
• A flexible approach to working hours to meet the needs of the business.
• A commitment to Health, Safety and Food Safety standards.

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, including one day per weekend.

The hours will be worked between 5:00am and 11:00pm, so a degree of flexibility is required to meet the needs of the business. Please note: this role involves lone working.
