Job Summary
Summer: Drives research projects scientifically and determines the course of research as evidenced by leadership, obtaining funding, writing, or other recognition. May not necessarily receive independent resources; however, their contribution is essential to the conceptual/scientific success of the project.o Design and perform genetic association analysis.
o Design, plan, and execute cell-based, biochemical, and in vivo experiments necessary to validate target genes for therapeutic discovery.
o Maintain cell lines and isolate primary cells for use in cell-based assays.
o Work with informatics and computational scientists to integrate and interpret screening and functional genomic data sets.
o Perform detailed characterization and cellular mechanism of action studies of chemically optimized compounds.
o Perform mouse genetic linkage analysis to define genes affecting genome instability
o Work with team to design and execute research plans to ensure that critical project requirements, timelines, and deliverables are met.
o Troubleshoot and solve scientific problems independently.
o Identify, investigate and implement new technologies based on scientific needs.
o Effectively present results in cross-functional project teams.
o Design, execute, and interpret research experiments.
o Train investigators in techniques relating to small animal surgery, molecular biology, and vector construction.
o Investigates, creates and develops new methods and technologies for research advancements
o Assist in laboratory management.
o Contribute to scientific literature and present research at scientific forums
