Job Title: Relationship Director, North American Banks

Location: London

Hours: Full-time

What you’ll be doing:

Join our Global Banks, Specialist Finance & Diversified Financials team and play a leading role in managing and growing relationships with some of the most significant North American banking institutions. Working closely with the Head of North America Financial Services, based in New York, you’ll be responsible for a portfolio of leading US and Canadian bank clients, helping to deepen relationships, grow revenue opportunities and strengthen Lloyds Banking Group’s presence across the sector.

You’ll develop and deliver portfolio strategies that maximise client value whilst balancing risk and return. Acting as a trusted relationship lead, you’ll originate new business opportunities, build senior stakeholder relationships and work across product specialists and delivery teams to identify solutions that meet client needs. Through proactive engagement and strong market connectivity, you’ll help raise our profile in the financial institutions sector and support the growth of both new and existing client relationships.

The role requires a strong understanding of banking markets, financial products and regulatory requirements. You’ll oversee credit, operational and transactional risks across your portfolio, contribute to credit approval processes and ensure effective governance standards are maintained. You’ll also support the development of colleagues, helping to build a high-performing, collaborative and inclusive team culture.

What we’re looking for:

• 5+ years’ direct experience marketing banks and/or financial products to a defined client base
• Proven experience managing and growing senior relationships within US and Canadian banks or wider financial institutions
• Strong business development and origination experience with the ability to identify opportunities and deliver sustainable revenue growth
• Knowledge of banking and treasury products, including areas such as transaction banking, liquidity, foreign exchange, repo, structured solutions or debt capital markets
• Experience assessing and managing credit, operational and transactional risks, including preparing and supporting credit approval submissions
• Strong stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills with the ability to work effectively across product, delivery and senior leadership teams

And any experience in the following areas would be great:

• Financial Markets
• Correspondent Banking or Transaction Banking
• Financial Institutions Coverage or Corporate Banking

This role is considered Certified under the Senior Manager and Certification Regime as either requiring mandatory qualifications or being deemed as a role capable of providing ‘significant harm’ to customers. Due to this, successful candidates will be subject to enhanced levels of vetting, and required to complete a fitness and propriety attestation on commencement in role. Colleagues performing this role will be required to be complete a fitness and propriety attestation on an annual basis and will also be subject to additional routine criminal and credit checks

This role has been identified as a Client-dealing function under SYSC 27.8.18R as defined in the FCA Handbook

If you manage certified colleagues this role will be identified as Manager of certification employees under SYSC 27.8.13R as defined in the FCA Handbook(1) The function of managing or supervising a certification employee, directly or indirectly, is an FCA-specified significant-harm function.(2) A function in (1) is not an FCA certification function for that firm if it is performed by an SMF manager of that firm.
