Are you passionate about helping patients achieve better sleep and improved health? Join our team as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT), where you'll play a vital role in diagnosing and treating sleep disorders through advanced sleep studies and patient-centered care.
What You'll Do
As a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist, you will perform comprehensive sleep studies and associated interventions under the direction of a physician. You'll ensure accurate data collection, patient safety, and high-quality diagnostic testing while providing education and support throughout the patient's sleep health journey.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, calibrate, and maintain sleep study equipment.
- Apply electrodes and sensors according to AASM standards.
- Conduct overnight polysomnographic studies, including: CPAP/BiPAP titration studies Split-night studies Multiple Sleep Latency Tests (MSLT)
- Continuously monitor patients and respond appropriately to sleep-related events and emergencies.
- Score sleep studies and create detailed reports following AASM guidelines.
- Educate patients on sleep disorders, PAP therapy, and equipment use.
- Maintain compliance with infection prevention and safety protocols.
- Accurately document procedures, results, and patient interactions in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education opportunities.
Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) credential.
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 3 months of hire.
Preferred:
- Graduate of an accredited Polysomnography program.
- Previous experience in sleep diagnostics and PAP therapy.
