POSITION SUMMARY: Set-up, acquire and analyze sleep studies. Schedule patient if necessary. Send reports, organize charts, accurate documentation of testing and patient behavior and maintain good communication between physicians, patients and staff. Must be able to work independently and in team setting. Must be motivated to learn new skills and use them independently. Must be able to demonstrate skills and problem solve, must be open to new ideas and growth of department and skills.1. Shall be familiar with and responsible for complying with all guidelines in regard to sleep studies, acquisition and scoring.
2. Shall assist with training and be supportive of new Sleep Center and/or Respiratory staff and shall assist co-workers when needed.
3. Shall follow guidelines/policies regarding cleaning equipment.
4. Carry out physician orders as well as read sleep patient charts to keep current with the patients' conditions and progress.
5. Shall be responsible for maintaining accurate and complete records.
6. Shall be familiar with all Sleep Study patient set ups, identify sleep stages and be able to score a sleep study, explain and use treatments for sleep apnea and expected results.
7. Shall exhibit a professional, courteous and friendly manner in any contact with patients, nursing staff, medical staff and co-workers.
8. Obtain and maintain competency in accessing and documenting patient information in the automated patient medical record as defined by departmental policies.
9. In accordance with Hospital's Revenue Management and CDM policies and procedures:
Demonstrates proficiency with timeliness of charge entry and selection of correct charges for services provided. Assures that the charges entered are consistent with services provided and supported by appropriate documentation.
When assigned, assumes daily reconciliation duties and serves as Department Revenue Lead and Subject Matter Expert for department's revenue capture, reconciliation and error correction processes and procedures.
10. Performs all other duties as assigned.
