Our Medical-surgical nurses provide care to a wide patient population with a variety of medical issues.  Nurses with this specialty have a broad knowledge base and are experts in their practice. Medicine is a specialty that provides the opportunity to care for patients diagnosed with a wide range of medical concerns. Nurses with this versatile background have extensive knowledge and expertise in medicine.  Our Medicine Units are the foundation of your career; advancing your organizational, assessment, and communication skills leading you into a successful career in nursing!

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION:

S1400 is a 24-bed acute care nursing unit that provides care to Medical patients that may or may not require telemetry monitoring.

This unit cares for a wide variety of medical issues, including Alzheimer’s/dementia, psych, sepsis or other advanced infections, fall/syncope, palliative/ hospice, stroke, COVID-19, cardiac diagnosis: atrial fibrillation, congestive heart failure, acute coronary syndrome, etc.

Our unit population consists of patients ages 20 to geriatrics. In addition to inpatient status, the staff also monitors and cares for patients who have been placed in an observation or outpatient extended stay status.

• Per Diem, night shift (7p-730a)

QUALIFICATIONS: 

• Successfully passed Board of Registration in Nursing Examination and licensed in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
• Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider CPR certification required.
• 1 year of experience required
• Education: ADN required BSN preferred
