We're looking for a passionate Registered Nurse to join our team at our GenesisCare Albany Radiation Oncology Centre on a casual basis.

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a supportive and collaborative team dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care. Whether you're experienced in oncology nursing or looking to expand your skills into a specialist area, you'll be supported by a multidisciplinary team committed to delivering the best possible outcomes for our patients.

As a key member of our team, you will provide high-quality clinical care, education, and support to patients throughout their treatment journey. By responding to individual patient needs and delivering compassionate, patient centred care, you'll help create an exceptional experience for every patient.

More specifically, you will:

• Provide excellent patient care, ensuring patients' physical and psychological needs are met.
• Undertake direct patient care, including education, wound management, and medication administration in line with clinical protocols.
• Effectively manage patient caseloads while maintaining a high standard of care.
• Collaborate closely with Radiation Oncologists, Radiation Therapists, Allied Health professionals and Patient Services teams.
• Ensure patient related events are documented, communicated, and actioned appropriately.
• Maintain procedures, protocols, practices, and clinical guidelines in line with best practice radiation oncology nursing standards.
• Ensure medication management protocols are followed.
• Facilitate referrals and communication with Allied Health services using ISBAR principles.
• Participate in patient handovers using the ISBAR communication framework.
• Demonstrate reliability, flexibility, and a strong commitment to patient care.

We're looking for someone who has:

• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
• Previous oncology, cancer care, or radiation oncology experience is highly regarded but not essential.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with a compassionate and empathetic approach.
• Strong clinical assessment, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in wound care management.
• Commitment to evidence-based practice, NSQHS standards, and continuous quality improvement.
• A strong focus on delivering outstanding patient care.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and learning.
