Starting salary $116,000+ DOE annually.

OVERVIEW OF POSITION: Manages and directs behavioral health services for the autism organization within designated region. Ensures clinical operations, communications, quality and service standards are maintained and in compliance with clinical guidelines, contractual obligations, and applicable regulations. Maintains appropriate staffing, staff skill level, technical resources, training, and supervision in order to ensure efficient performance of region per established goals, objectives, productivity requirements, and operating budget. Ensures consistency of clinical service delivery across region. Monitors the overall effectiveness and needs of areas of responsibility at present and into the future.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTION:

  • Provides direct supervision to and manages, evaluates, and monitors Associate Regional Clinical Director(s) (ARCDs) and Clinical Supervisors. Leads management, evaluation, and monitoring of performance and productivity of Clinical Supervisor(s), Program Managers, and Behavioral Interventionists. RCD maintains overall oversight of designated region
  • Ensures responsibility, authority, and accountability are clearly defined and communicated to all clinical team members.Oversees and maintains clinical quality and consistency of individualized goals and plans, and assists with organizational and clinical audits within assigned region. Ensures evaluations, case-management review, quality assurance reviews, and audits are assigned and complete. Updates and manages case assignments as needed. Ensures coordination with scheduling department to balance caseloads.
  • Oversees and ensures the completion of necessary documentation including participant evaluations, treatment notes, progress reports and exit summaries; and other related documentation. Ensures timely report submission obligations.
  • Leads and attends staff meetings. Assesses staff development and specialized training needs, and prepares, assigns and/or provides development of instructional material as appropriate.
  • Evaluates the staffing and productivity needs of the region and works with Regional Vice President, and the Human Resources department in the recruitment/selection of new program associates. Complies with and enforces staff adherence to guidelines, standards, practices, policies, procedures, and regulations, internal and external to ESSC.
  • Responsible for implementation of and adherence to organization initiatives within region.
  • Ensures adherence to funding source requirements, applicable regulations, and contract fulfillment; including medical necessity, as well as clinical needs of participants and families.
  • Meets productivity requirements set forth in annual budget. Contributes to budgetary planning and needs of assigned region.

  • Partners with RVP to evaluate health of region, current and future needs, to elevate performance, ensure alignment and consistency of clinical and operational strategy, compliance, quality assurance of service delivery, and productivity.
  • Remains current regarding new research, current trends and developments in autism, special education and related fields.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

  • Requires a Master’s Degree with emphasis in Early Childhood Education/Development, Early Childhood Special Education, Special Education, Psychology, Behavior Analysis, or related field, from an accredited college or university.|Must have and maintain certification as Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).|Current CPR certification card.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 5+ years of related professional experience working with children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD), and /or other related developmental disabilities, in a multi-disciplinary team setting. Including experience in planning, implementation, and management of behavioral health service programs.
  • 3+ years of managerial experience of multi-level clinical teams.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

  • Proficient knowledge of scientifically-validated methodologies and approaches found to benefit children with ASD; well- versed in current related research findings.
  • Strong expertise in approaches to intervention based on the science of Applied Behavior Analysis. Competent in employing and directing behavior analytic methodologies including Pivotal Response Training (PRT), Natural Environment Teaching (NET), Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS), Behavior Skills Training (BST), and Experimental Functional Analysis (EFA).
  • Strong clinical, administrative, management, and leadership skills. Able to foster teamwork, effective monitoring, supervision, training and mentoring of staff. Strong interpersonal communication, problemsolving and decision-making skills.
  • Knowledge of community resources and agencies that serve children. Familiar with funding source plan design.
  • Able to interpret and implement policies, procedures, and regulations.

  • Ability to communicate effectively, through oral and written skills, and work cooperatively with a variety of individuals and groups. Must relate well to children and their families and maintain positive affect.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and maintain a high level of confidentiality to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.) and related computer software.
  • Able to obtain and maintain a criminal record/fingerprint clearance from the Department of Justice and Federal Bureau of Investigation per Easterseals Southern California (ESSC) and/or program requirements.
  • Ability to travel locally with own reliable transportation, maintain driving record in compliance with Transportation Safety Standards; have and maintain proper auto insurance and vehicle registration.
  • Ability to pass post-offer medical examination. Ability to provide proof of required vaccinations or positive titer showing immunity.
  • Must pass all drug testing required by ESSC.
