Harlem Children's Zone · Vor Ort · New York, New York, United States

Harlem Children’s Zone (HCZ), a world-renowned education and poverty-fighting organization based in New York, seeks an enthusiastic, dedicated, and mission-aligned Recruitment Manager to join The Baby College parenting program, the Baby College G.R.A.D.S. EHS home-visiting program, and The Three-Year-Old Journey 12-week workshop for children and parents.

The Recruitment Manager will bring a passion for Harlem Children’s Zone's mission: breaking the cycle of intergenerational poverty through comprehensive, on-the-ground programming that creates opportunities for children to be College, Career, and Life Ready. The Recruitment manager, a centralized position, will function across GRADS EHS, The Baby College (TBC), and Three-Year-Old Journey to strengthen pipeline integrity, ensure consistent referral flow, and reduce attrition between outreach, enrollment, and service engagement. The Recruitment Manager will also centralize and coordinate recruitment efforts to ensure enrollment stability across all programs.

The Baby College is a cornerstone of HCZ’s early intervention and parent engagement strategy, designed to support expecting parents and families with children from birth to age three. Through a series of free evening and Saturday parenting workshops and classes, families gain critical knowledge, practical skills, and ongoing support during their children’s most formative years. Educational sessions cover a wide range of topics, including infant and toddler brain development, health and wellness, early literacy, and parent‑child bonding. Families also receive resources, incentives, and referrals that strengthen their ability to raise happy, healthy children who enter school ready to learn. To extend this impact, HCZ launched......

The Baby College GRADS (Guardians Responding and Developing Strategies) program in 2010 offered graduates the opportunity to deepen their understanding of child development while building strong relationships with other caregivers. Grounded in the latest research on infant and toddler brain development, GRADS provides intensive yet supportive programming through weekly home visits and biweekly group meetings. Parents learn how to strengthen daily interactions with their children, foster early language and literacy skills, and create enriching learning environments at home. While the training is comprehensive, the program maintains a warm, welcoming atmosphere that feels like a neighborhood playgroup, reinforcing the idea that everyday moments from playtime to grocery shopping can become powerful opportunities for learning and bonding.

Three-Year-Old Journey is a 12-week workshop series for HCZ Promise Academy lottery winners to learn, grow, and nurture friendships in the lead-up to their admission to the school. Participants explore developmental milestones, discipline techniques, and developmentally appropriate activities to foster early literacy and math skills. Graduates receive guidance in applying to Harlem Gems Preschool and referrals to HCZ programs and community resources. Workshops take place on Saturdays and are offered in English, Spanish, and French. Together, The Baby College, GRADS EHS, and Three-Year-Old Journey ensure families receive the education, tools, and support they need during the pivotal first three years of a child’s life.
