This internship is specifically designed for individuals working towards a PhD who are developing proficiency in their field. The Opportunity:

Research & Development at Procter & Gamble brings together science, innovation, and technology to create safe, high-quality products for consumers worldwide. Within Beauty Care, Global Product Stewardship applies exposure science, toxicology, and regulatory science to support product safety and responsible innovation.

We are seeking a highly motivated PhD candidate to join our Beauty Human Safety organization, located in Mason, OH, as a PhD Summer Intern. The intern will collaborate with scientists and modelers on a quantitative research project supporting the evaluation of consumer product exposure to beauty spray products. The role will involve generating and analyzing scientific data, applying computational methods, evaluating model performance, and communicating findings and recommendations to a cross-functional team. This opportunity offers hands-on experience applying advanced technical skills to real-world product safety questions in a multidisciplinary research environment.
 

Key Responsibilities:

• Use existing internal experimental design & protocols to generate experimental data for various product types.
• Use experimental data to create an exposure model. Compare model predictions, evaluate performance, document assumptions and limitations, and recommend refinements.
• Deliver a prototype model interface or workflow, a technical report, and a final internal presentation.

Job Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Education: Working towards a PhD in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerosol Science, Exposure Science, Applied Mathematics, Data Science, or a related Life Sciences (Toxicology, Pharmacology, Biochemistry, etc.)
• Relevant programming and simulation experience - e.g. Python, COMSOL, MATLAB
• Available to work a 12-week internship from May/early June to August in the summer of 2027, 4-5 days onsite per week.
   

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of one or more relevant areas, such as mass transfer, fluid dynamics, aerosol science, particle transport, or exposure modeling.
