Project Role Description : Leads a team of quality engineers through multi-disciplinary team planning and ecosystem integration to accelerate delivery and drive quality across the application lifecycle. Applies business and functional knowledge to develop end-to-end testing strategies through the use of quality processes and methodologies. Applies testing methodologies, principles and processes to define and implement key metrics to manage and assess the testing process including test execution and defect resolution.

As an Application Support Engineer, a typical day involves acting as a software detective by investigating and resolving issues across various components of essential business systems. This role requires a proactive approach to identifying problems, analyzing system behaviors, and ensuring smooth operation of critical applications that support business functions. The position demands continuous monitoring, collaboration with different teams, and delivering timely solutions to maintain system reliability and performance in a dynamic environment.

Professional & Technical Skills:
- Material Master Data Management (Retail):
- Understanding of article/material master harmonization across retail and non-retail business streams.
- Knowledge of retail-specific material types (articles, variants, generic articles).
- Experience with material group to merchandising category mapping and harmonization.
- Procurement Processes in Retail. Retail procurement cycles (direct, indirect, consignment, intercompany).
- Vendor master data management and integration with retail processes.
- Purchase order (PO) management, including automatic PO creation for stores.
- Handling of promotions, pricing, and special procurement types in retail.
- Inventory Management. Retail inventory processes (store inventory, warehouse, distribution center).
- Stock transfers between stores, warehouses, and central distribution.
- Physical inventory processes and cycle counting in a retail environment.
- Integration with POS (Point of Sale) systems for real-time inventory updates.
- Assortment and Listing Management. Knowledge of assortment planning and listing procedures for retail stores.
- Article listing, delisting, and store-specific assortment management.
- Integration with Other SAP Retail Modules. Integration with SAP SD (Sales & Distribution), FI (Finance), and IS-Retail components.
- Understanding of interfaces with external systems (PIM, WMS, POS, pricing engines).
- Data Migration and Cleansing. Experience in data migration strategies for material master and transactional data.
- Data cleansing and harmonization for common materials/articles across business units.
- Retail-Specific Processes. Store operations (goods receipt, goods issue, store-to-store transfers).
- Handling of promotions, markdowns, and price changes.
- Batch management and serial number management in retail.
- SAP S/4HANA and IS-Retail. Familiarity with SAP S/4HANA MM Retail functionalities and best practices.
- Experience with SAP IS-Retail solution (if applicable).
- Testing, Training, and Documentation:
- Development and execution of test scripts for MM Retail scenarios.
- End-user training and preparation of user manuals for retail processes.
- Change Management and Support and Ongoing support for SAP MM Retail operations.
- Continuous improvement and optimization of retail MM processes.
- Required Knowledge in Sales Order Management in Retail
- End-to-end sales order processing for retail, including store and online channels
- Handling of retail-specific order types (e.g., store orders, intercompany, consignment)
- Knowledge of Allocation Run, segmentation and seasonality in sales order management
- Pricing and Promotions. Retail pricing procedures, condition techniques, and price determination
- Management of complex promotions, discounts, and markdowns
- Integration of pricing with POS and external pricing engines
- Billing and Invoicing. Retail billing scenarios (centralized, decentralized, collective billing)
- Handling of returns, credit/debit memos, and cancellations
- Integration with finance (FI) for revenue recognition and tax compliance
- Customer Master Data Management
- Retail-specific customer hierarchies and account groups
- Loyalty program integration and customer segmentation
- Data cleansing and harmonization for customer records
- Assortment and Listing Management. Store-specific assortment planning and product listing
- Integration with MM for material/article availability in sales processes
- Integration with Other SAP Modules and Retail Systems
- Integration with MM (Materials Management), FI (Finance), and IS-Retail
Interfaces with POS, CRM, WMS, loyalty, and pricing systems
- Knowledge of data flows between SAP SD and external retail platforms. Order-to-Cash Process in Retail. End-to-end process from order entry to delivery, billing, and payment
- Handling of store-to-store transfers, direct deliveries, and drop shipments
- Returns and Reverse Logistics. Retail returns management, including store and online returns
- Handling of defective goods, recalls, and customer complaints
- Data Migration and Testing. Experience with data migration tools (e.g., LSMW) for customer and sales data
- Development and execution of test scripts for SD Retail scenarios
- Reporting and Analytics. Sales reporting, margin analysis, and retail-specific KPIs
- Use of SAP standard and custom reports for sales performance
- SAP S/4HANA and IS-Retail. Familiarity with SAP S/4HANA SD Retail functionalities and best practices
- Experience with SAP IS-Retail solution (if applicable)
- Change Management and Support. Ongoing support for SAP SD Retail operations
- Continuous improvement and optimization of retail SD processes
