We’re searching for a Quality and Compliance Coordinator to cover a 12-month maternity contract based out of our Binley Head Office. You will be responsible for coordinating our quality and environmental systems across our civils and drylining/insulation divisions. This role is critical in maintaining our ISO 9001, ISO 4001, Achilles and Constructionline accreditations, ensuring our products, suppliers and operations meet rigorous industry standards. Also, to own, manage and return RFI, PQQ and framework documentation from clients as and when sent through by colleagues.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Management (ISO 9001)
- Maintain and enhance the Quality Management System (QMS) across civils and drylining/insulation product lines.
- Conduct internal audits and manage external audit processes to ensure ongoing ISO 9001 certification.
- Monitor product quality, customer complaints, and non-conformance trends across both divisions.
- Collaborate with warehouse and sales teams to ensure consistent quality control procedures.
Environmental Management (ISO 14001)
- Oversee the Environmental Management System (EMS), ensuring compliance with ISO 14001.
- Implement sustainable practices across logistics, packaging, and product sourcing.
- Support depot teams in managing waste streams and reducing environmental impact.
Accreditations: Achilles & Constructionline
- Coordinate and maintain Achilles and Constructionline registrations, ensuring timely renewals and accurate submissions.
- Coordinate with commercial teams to provide documentation for prequalification and tendering.
- Stay up to date with accreditation requirements and industry changes.
Supplier & Product Compliance
- Vet and monitor suppliers of civils materials (e.g., drainage, aggregates, geotechnical) and drylining/insulation systems (e.g., plasterboard, mineral wool, PIR boards).
- Ensure all products meet relevant standards (e.g., CE marking, BBA certification, fire ratings).
- Maintain a central compliance database including technical datasheets, declarations of performance, and supplier certifications.
Framework and PQQ Request Ownership
- Colleagues end through requests from clients for Pre-Qualification Questionnaires, Requests for information, Insurance details and Framework documentation assistance. This is not an exhaustive list.
- You will be responsible for collating the relevant information and returning it, either directly to the client online via portals, via email or back to the colleague to send on.
- Reactive and unplanned, usually with little notice and tight deadlines.
Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications and Experience required
- Proven experience in quality management within a merchant/distribution environment, ideally covering both civils and interior systems.
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, Achilles, and Constructionline.
- Familiarity with civils products (e.g., concrete, drainage) and drylining/insulation systems (e.g., plasterboard, insulation boards).
- Excellent auditing, documentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Relevant qualifications in quality or environmental management (e.g., IRCA, CQI, NEBOSH).
- Ability to influence operational teams and suppliers to uphold quality standards.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical mindset.
- Comfortable working across multiple sites and managing remote compliance activities.
- Experience with digital QMS platforms or supplier portals.
