You will work as part of a study team under the direction of a lead programmer and contribute to the delivery of reliable clinical research data and outputs.
What You’ll Do
- Complete programming tasks assigned by study project leads. This may include creating, running, maintaining, and validating programs that transfer data between data management systems or operating systems; combine data from different sources and structures; generate summary data and reports; and produce or validate listings, tables, and figures using SAS and established tools and processes.
- Prepare and analyze clinical trial patient datasets, including laboratory, vital signs, tumor response, imaging, quality of life and well-being questionnaire, and adverse event data.
- Work with researchers and multidisciplinary project teams to understand project needs, analyze problems, and recommend technology-based solutions and computational approaches.
- Develop customized code that uses existing tools and applications to produce or validate outputs for clinical bioinformatics and technical use.
- Serve as the programming lead on studies of simple to moderate complexity, delivering lead programmer tasks and responsibilities.
- Build understanding of the lead programmer’s role in the study process. Under close supervision, you may lead simple to moderately complex projects.
- Follow departmental working practice documents and standard operating procedures, and contribute to informal training materials.
- Continue developing your programming, technology, clinical trial, and pharmaceutical industry knowledge by working with mentors, attending presentations and teaching events, and contributing to departmental documents and policies.
Education and Experience
- Master’s degree in computer science, statistics, biostatistics, mathematics, or a related field; or a bachelor’s degree in one of these fields, or an equivalent degree, with relevant formal academic or vocational qualifications.
- At least 4 years of end-to-end SDTM experience, including programming, and delivery of SDTM datasets.
- Relevant experience demonstrating the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the role.
