Dana-Farber Cancer Institute is seeking a Program Manager to support a high-priority Strategic Education Initiative to establish the organization as a global leader in oncology education.
This role will serve as the central connector ("through line") across multiple education workstreams, ensuring alignment, execution, and progress toward key institutional goals, including accreditation, program growth, learner engagement, and long-term revenue potential.
The Program Manager will partner closely with cross-functional stakeholders to unify efforts across Continuing Professional Education (CPE), Graduate Medical Education (GME), and Undergraduate Medical Education (UME). This individual will help coordinate a cohesive and scalable education ecosystem that aligns business objectives, digital strategy, learner experience, technology platforms, and operational processes.
Success in this role will require strong program leadership, stakeholder management, and the ability to drive alignment across education, communications and marketing, digital, technology, analytics, and vendor partners.

Key Responsibilities

Program Leadership & Coordination

  • Serve as the central program lead across all education workstreams (CPE, GME, UME), ensuring alignment on priorities, timelines, dependencies, and outcomes
  • Break down silos across teams by driving structured communication, governance, and shared planning processes
  • Develop and maintain integrated program roadmaps, milestones, success metrics, and executive reporting
  • Coordinate activities across multiple initiatives to ensure progress toward strategic education goals
  • Establish governance processes that support effective decision-making and accountability

Cross-Functional Stakeholder Management

  • Partner with education leaders, program owners, and key stakeholders to ensure consistent alignment and visibility
  • Facilitate steering committees, working sessions, stakeholder reviews, and executive updates
  • Build strong relationships across departments to drive collaboration and shared ownership
  • Proactively identify risks, gaps, and dependencies and drive resolution plans
  • Escalate issues and recommendations appropriately to maintain program momentum

Digital Ecosystem Alignment & Learner Experience

  • Partner closely with Education, Digital, Marketing, and IT stakeholders to ensure education initiatives align with organizational digital strategy, brand standards, and learner experience objectives
  • Serve as the coordinating lead across the education technology ecosystem, helping align platforms, processes, and stakeholder priorities to support a seamless learner journey
  • Facilitate planning and decision-making across key platforms including the education website, accreditation platform, learning management system (LMS), CRM, marketing automation tools, and analytics capabilities
  • Collaborate with Communications & Marketing to ensure digital experiences support institutional branding, audience engagement, and content strategy objectives
  • Identify dependencies, integration needs, and operational impacts across platforms and workstreams, escalating risks and recommendations as appropriate
  • Support business requirements gathering, vendor coordination, and platform evaluations where needed to advance strategic education goals

Vendor Management & Execution

  • Partner with and help manage external vendors supporting platform implementation, education initiatives, and digital experiences
  • Ensure vendors are aligned to project goals, timelines, deliverables, and quality expectations
  • Track progress and hold partners accountable to agreed-upon milestones and outcomes
  • Coordinate vendor activities with internal stakeholders to ensure successful execution

Operational Infrastructure & Scalability

  • Help define and implement scalable processes to support program growth, accreditation requirements, and operational efficiency
  • Drive standardization across workflows, reporting, governance, and performance tracking
  • Support development of operational models that enable sustainable program expansion
  • Establish reporting frameworks and performance measures to support strategic decision-making
  • Contribute to long-term planning for growth, learner engagement, and program sustainability

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5+ years of experience in program management, transformation, strategic initiatives, or related fields
  • Proven experience leading complex cross-functional initiatives involving multiple stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in ambiguous environments and bring structure to complex programs
  • Strong organizational, facilitation, and project planning skills
  • Experience communicating with and presenting to senior leaders and executive stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in healthcare, higher education, academic medicine, or professional education environments
  • Experience supporting accreditation-related programs or educational operations
  • Experience coordinating complex digital ecosystems involving web platforms, learning technologies, CRM systems, marketing automation platforms, analytics solutions, or related enterprise applications
  • Experience working with Learning Management Systems (LMS), education technology platforms, or learner engagement tools
  • Familiarity with digital transformation, platform implementation, or organizational change initiatives

  • Strong communication and facilitation capabilities across technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ability to understand technology, platforms, integrations, and digital ecosystems at a strategic level without requiring hands-on technical expertise
  • Strong program management, prioritization, and execution skills
  • Analytical and systems-oriented thinker capable of connecting workstreams and identifying dependencies
  • Proactive, solutions-oriented, and comfortable navigating complex organizational dynamics
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with operational execution
  • Skilled at building alignment among diverse stakeholder groups with competing priorities

Pay Transparency Statement

The hiring range is based on market pay structures, with individual salaries determined by factors such as business needs, market conditions, internal equity, and based on the candidate’s relevant experience, skills and qualifications.

For union positions, the pay range is determined by the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
