This is a temporary fixed-term opportunity for approximately 18 months.

The Shift Manager is a key site operational leadership position with overall responsibility for a manufacturing shift within the Mondelez International organisation. It is a role that requires the leadership and motivation of staff at multiple levels to ensure effective delivery of the daily performance through the alignment of resources (people, plant and process) to meet defined KPIs and Operational targets. He/she identifies continuous improvement and loss elimination opportunities and influences the implementation.

As the Shift Manager you will suport the Plant Lead and be the Operations leadership representative during your shift. Supported by your motivational leadership and relentless desire for everyday great delivery and execution, you drive a team ethic that at its core is passionate for continual improvement.

How you will contribute

You will be:

• Accountable for people, plant & performance on designated shift ​

• Responsible for morale, conduct & behaviour of shift team

• Ensure hourly, shift targets are met including volume & GE delivery​

• Escalate safety, quality and production losses outside of shift according to escalation matrix

• Responsible for the safety of team, quality & food safety of products, working with their team and stakeholders to drive fundamental improvements

• ·Supporting the other Shift Managers & Plant Lead, completing shift reports & handovers for designated area​, setting next shift up for success

• Work with day-based performance teams to drive long term improvements​

• Own absence management including scheduling and hearing stage review meetings, ensuring RTW completed

• Workforce planning to ensure adequate cover is provided in each key role

• Develop and implement shift engagement improvement plans, measure through engagement survey

• Support internal & external audits while on shift – QP, SMETA, HSE Cross Assessment, ISO50001 etc

• Act as a Safety leader for the section by active leadership of a safety standard including ensuring work instructions, risk assessments & training are appropriate to the tasks

• Proven track record of successfully managing & developing teams of people in a manufacturing environment
• Role model for conduct and behaviour - GMP, safety, professional conduct, integrity
• Effective communicator both verbal and written

• Presence to confidently take control of situations requiring decisions impacting production

Education / Certifications: Ideally food science or engineering qualification at third level diploma/degree

Travel requirements: not required, the position is located at the Rathmore site

Work schedule: 3 circles rotational shifts, 7 days; 24H rotating shift pattern - 3 circles - nights, evenings, days 12 -8, 4 -12, 8-4
