Your role?

 The Production Manager (PM) functions as the Producer’s “right hand,” stepping up to support leadership duties as required and maintaining a direct line of communication with the VFX Producer (and/or Executive in Charge of Production) on all aspects of the show. Partnering closely with the VFX Producer, the PM provides daily strategic oversight and reporting on all show-specific needs.  

What will you be doing?

• Collaborate with Talent Managers under the direction of the VFX Producer to address day to day crew needs as required.

• Create an overall show asset and shot schedule across all disciplines in collaboration with the Producer and Supervisors, leveraging external vendors and ILM’s best practices.

• Oversee the implementation of the schedule by guiding and directing Production Coordinators, Supervisors, and Artist Leads as needed.

• Act as a liaison between the client side Production team and the ILM Production team.

• Oversee daily and weekly client deliverables and quotas, ensuring all deliveries are accurate and timely. 

• Manage the Production crew on a daily basis in collaboration with the Producer, directing Production Coordinators and Assistants to ensure all show needs are met.

• Proactively problem solve and raise concerns regarding all aspects of vendor relations.

• Provide support as a vendor liaison for technical and creative issues to ensure work stays on schedule and optimal workflows are followed.

• Assist in facilitating the overall setup of the show pipeline and toolset in partnership with the VFX Producer, VFX Supervisor, and CG Supervisor.

• Evaluate artist strengths to help develop the cross-utilisation of resources and promote an effective workflow.

• Manage communication between other ILM global sites.

• Manage clients and act as the leader when the Producer is absent or unavailable. 

• Partner with the Producer to run bid meetings, manage budgeting requirements, and monitor ongoing project financials to ensure the show remains on budget. 

• Consult on the creation of training plans for Production Coordinators and Assistants as required.

• Possess a Bachelor's Degree in Film, Art, or Communications, or equivalent industry experience.
