Job Summary

The Production Foreman oversees daily oil, gas, and water production operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and environmentally compliant activities. This role supervises field personnel, partners with engineering and operations teams, and is responsible for optimizing production, resolving operational issues, and maintaining equipment reliability. The position drives operational excellence and continuous improvement while actively managing operational budgets by controlling costs and identifying efficiencies across field activities.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervise and direct Lease Operators and Production Techs, providing guidance and support to ensure safe and efficient operations.

  • Monitor and optimize production process variables to maximize efficiency and reliability of wells and facilities.

  • Coordinate with field employees, engineers, and other teams to address underperforming wells and resolve operational issues.

  • Analyze production reports and data, identify trends, and implement corrective actions as needed.

  • Oversee maintenance and repair of production equipment and facilities, ensuring timely response to equipment failures or hazards.

  • Maintains accurate production records, prepares reports, and communicates operational status to management.

  • Support the implementation of new technologies and process improvements to enhance production performance.

  • Conduct regular safety meetings, training, and field inspections to promote a culture of safety and compliance.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for field operations, responding to emergencies and abnormal situations.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma (or GED).

  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in oil and gas production operations.

  • Ability to pass a respiratory fit test, if applicable to route/location.

  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable MVR.

  • An acceptable pre-employment background and drug test.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate’s or technical degree in a related field.

  • Prior supervisory experience.

  • Experience with production optimization, artificial lift systems, and well performance analysis.

  • Familiarity with SAP, production surveillance tools, and digital oilfield technologies.

  • Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations applicable to oil and gas operations.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

  • Ability to stoop, stand, walk, pull, carry instruments, and climb stairs and ladders for an extended period of time.

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs.

  • Ability to work overhead for extended periods of time.

  • Ability to perform fine manipulations with hands and fingers.

  • Capable of driving distances of 150 miles or more per day during all types of weather conditions.

  • Ability to one arm carry up to 25lbs. without assistance.

  • Regular bending, crouching, pulling, and kneeling to check equipment and gauges.

  • Must be able to exert up to 50lbs of force occasionally and up to 20lbs frequently to move or manipulate objects.

  • Ability to work significant amounts of time as required in completing job responsibilities. Working environment includes exposure to extremely loud noises in the field, hazardous chemicals, and hydrocarbons that may be under extreme pressure for which appropriate safety measures are required.
