Responsibilities

The Lead Product Safety Engineer is responsible for evaluating design safety and mitigating potential personnel and environmental hazards throughout the entire product life cycle, from initial design reviews to the resolution of field issues.

• Lead the execution of the GE Vernova Wind Product Safety Process by applying rigorous standards to ensure safety and quality while promoting innovation and improvement. You will conduct quantitative risk modeling on complex equipment and systems to identify potential risks and champion the resolution of safety-critical issues for both new product designs and existing field units
• Involves working across various departments to integrate technical and business requirements, ensuring a comprehensive approach to product safety.
• Focuses on identifying and quantifying system requirements, exploring different design concepts, conducting studies, and selecting optimal designs. This ensures the product is both safe and efficient.
• Encompasses the entire lifecycle from concept through production to operation. It impacts projects, programs, and organizational practices, ensuring safety considerations are integrated throughout.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical) from an accredited college or university 
• 6+ years’ experience in design, systems, manufacturing, field operations, or similar function.

Eligibility Requirements

• The work location for this role is in Greenville, SC (Relocation assistance can be provided if not already local).
• This opportunity is eligible to work a Hybrid schedule (Monday to Thursday – Onsite | Fridays – Work from home).

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $98,400.00 and $164,000.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

 

 

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
