Über diese Product Manager, Fintech Stelle bei Ambrook

Ambrook · Hybrid · New York

Ambrook helps American family-run businesses become more profitable and resilient.
From volatile markets to climate shifts, independent operators face mounting pressure. While sustainable investments often yield the best long-term returns, they require financial clarity and capital that fragmented legacy systems can’t provide.

We are rebuilding the financial infrastructure that real economy operators rely on. By replacing paperwork with modern tools for accounting, banking, and spending, Ambrook gives owners the data they need to prove viability to lenders and the next generation. We empower the stewards of land and labor to make confident investments in their future.

We’re a Series B startup backed by Lachy Groom, Thrive Capital, Dylan Field, Thomson Reuters Ventures, Cameron Ventures, and leaders at Notion, Gusto, and Vercel. We’re looking for team members to help us untangle the intersection of American industry, climate, and the economy.

The opportunity

Ambrook is building a world-class team. As our fintech PM, you'll lead our work to build payments and banking capabilities that help Ambrook’s SMB operators run more sustainable and profitable businesses.

You’ll report directly to Ambrook’s co-founder and Head of Product, Dan Schlosser.

Own: Product direction and execution for neobanking products (Ambrook Wallet, Card, Bill Pay, Invoicing, and SMB payments network), driving customer acquisition (topline revenue), engagement, and retention.

Teach: Best practices in product management, fintech industry best practices and trends, flow of funds design, risk and fraud mitigation, and go-to-market strategy.

Learn: Ins and outs of building a climate tech company for American industry SMBs, including the nitty gritty of bookkeeping and accounting, the industrial economy, and natural resource management / ESG tie-ins.

Improve: Product robustness, growth loops and iteration speed, product quality and measurement.

Within 1 month you'll...

  • Familiarize yourself with Ambrook's product and our research notes and recording repository from user onboarding calls and customer discovery interviews.

  • Embed yourself deeply in understanding the state of American SMB finance, accounting, and payments, building a strong intuition about customer needs and audience segmentation across multiple industry verticals.

  • Establish deep relationships with your cross-functional peers in engineering, design, sales, product operations, and marketing.

  • Join meetings with operators and begin contributing to product prioritization decisions within your focus area.

  • Lead a pod of engineers, designers, and operators to define, build, release, and measure new feature releases within our fintech suite.

  • Shadow product onboarding calls and build expertise in the Ambrook product.

Within 3 months you'll...

  • Visit one or more customers on-location to build product instincts.

  • Own the roadmap and strategy for Ambrook’s fintech products, balancing customer needs, business goals, technical constraints.

  • Drive product decisions using a mix of customer insights, quantitative data, and strong product intuition.

  • Partner with your pod-mates to turn ambiguous problems and business opportunities into clear, actionable projects, selecting the appropriate tools (Figma, documents, code prototypes, etc) to create clarity.

  • Report out on your pod’s OKRs, demonstrating measurable impact on Ambrook’s business.

  • Lead a number of product onboarding calls, teaching new customers how to use the product.

Within 6 months you'll...

  • Define and execute a compelling product direction that inspires internal team stakeholders and aligns with company strategy.

  • Deliver best-in-class product experiences to thousands of customers and maintain a roadmap of future features. Propose expansions to Ambrook’s business and participate in quarterly and annual planning.

  • Champion a culture of customer-centricity and data-driven decision-making across the team.

  • Get involved in hiring and growing the team by evaluating & interviewing candidates.

  • Write about your experience and how you improved Ambrook's product culture and processes in a post on Ambrook's company blog.

About you

  • 5+ years working as a product manager on fintech products, working with dedicated engineering teams to ship impactful products to positive customer feedback and measurable market outcomes, ideally in early-stage or high-growth environments.

  • Strong product sense with the ability to synthesize a large amount of cross-functional stakeholder input, customer feedback and anecdata, quantitative data, and intuition into sound decisions.

  • Comfortable applying and articulating frameworks to contextualize decision making.

  • Fluent with SQL and Excel; comfortable with pulling your own data, building your own dashboards, and measuring the success of your work.

  • Fluent with using AI tools for writing, data analysis, and software engineering, using them to accelerate your own work while not exposing stakeholders to hallucination or low quality outputs.

  • Excellent written and verbal communicator who can articulate a product vision and align stakeholders by leading team meetings, quickly producing high quality product requirements documents, and keep up with a startup’s pace of team meetings and Slack discussions.

  • Thrives in ambiguity and turns abstract challenges into elegant, actionable solutions.

  • Track record of delivering results on time while balancing scope, priorities, and dependencies.

  • Bonus: Experience working in American industry: ag, trucking, construction, etc.
