ICON is seeking a rigorous and cross-functionally minded Product Change Manager to own the end-to-end change control process for the Titan print system and associated hardware products. As ICON scales deployments and continuously improves its technology, this role is critical to ensuring that product changes — spanning mechanical, electrical, software, and materials — are evaluated, approved, communicated, and implemented with full traceability and minimal disruption to field operations. You will serve as the central orchestrator of ICON's Engineering Change Order (ECO) process, working across Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Field Operations, and Quality to ensure changes are governed rigorously and executed cleanly from introduction through production. This position is based at ICON's Austin, TX campus and reports to the Manager, Manufacturing Engineering. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Own and administer ICON's Engineering Change Order (ECO) process end-to-end, from change request submission through approval, implementation, and closure.
  • Define and maintain change control policies, workflows, and documentation standards; continuously improve the process to support ICON's pace of product development and field deployment.
  • Facilitate the Change Control Board (CCB), coordinating cross-functional review and approval of proposed changes with stakeholders across Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality, and Field Operations.
  • Assess and document the impact of proposed changes on existing field units, production inventory, supplier tooling, and service procedures; classify changes by urgency and retrofit scope.
  • Partner with Engineering teams to ensure ECOs are complete, accurate, and properly linked to affected BOMs, drawings, and documentation in ICON's PLM system.
  • Coordinate with Supply Chain and Procurement to evaluate supplier and lead time impacts of hardware changes; ensure affected components are dispositioned and replacement parts are available prior to production cutover.
  • Manage retrofit and field upgrade programs for approved changes affecting deployed Titan systems; work with Field Operations to plan and track execution.
  • Maintain a complete and auditable change history for all released products, including change rationale, approval records, effectivity dates, and implementation status.
  • Track and report change cycle times, backlog, and implementation status to engineering and operations leadership; identify bottlenecks and drive resolution.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for change-related questions from internal teams, suppliers, and field personnel.
  • Develop and deliver training on change control processes and PLM system usage to ensure consistent adoption across the organization.
  • Support configuration management activities, including BOM accuracy, document control, and product baseline integrity. 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5+ years of experience in product change management, configuration management, or engineering program management in a hardware manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated experience administering ECO/ECR processes and managing Change Control Boards in a structured product lifecycle environment. - Strong understanding of PLM and ERP systems and how they interface in a hardware development and production context.
  • Ability to assess cross-functional impact of product changes across engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, and field operations.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage a high volume of concurrent changes across multiple product lines and development stages.
  • Clear and effective communicator with engineers, operations leaders, suppliers, and field teams.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment where product development velocity is high and change is constant.
  • Experience in a high-growth, high-velocity product development and NPI environment. 

 

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Experience with Agile PLM, Arena, Windchill, or similar PLM platforms; familiarity with NetSuite or comparable ERP systems.
  • Background in construction technology, robotics, aerospace, defense, or other hardware-intensive industries with rigorous change control requirements.
  • Experience managing field retrofit or upgrade programs for deployed hardware systems.
  • Familiarity with configuration management standards such as EIA-649 or MIL-HDBK-61.
  • PMP certification or equivalent program management credential is a plus.
  • Experience in a startup or high-growth enterprise environment bringing cutting-edge new technologies to market.
