Job Description
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, administer, and optimize IBM z/OS storage environments, including IBM DS8000 DASD and IBM TS7700 Virtual Tape platforms.
- Manage storage replication, business continuity, and disaster recovery solutions, ensuring high availability and resiliency across critical mainframe environments.
- Administer DFSMS technologies, including SMS, DFHSM, ICF Catalogs, storage groups, and policy-based data management.
- Perform capacity planning, utilization forecasting, growth analysis, and storage performance optimization to support enterprise workloads.
- Support GDPS-enabled recovery environments through testing, validation, failover exercises, and resiliency planning.
- Implement and maintain backup, recovery, cyber resiliency, Safeguarded Copy, and data protection solutions to meet operational and regulatory requirements.
- Develop automation, scripting, monitoring, and reporting solutions that improve operational efficiency, service reliability, and risk management.
- Collaborate with engineering, application, infrastructure, operations, and vendor teams to troubleshoot complex storage issues, support modernization initiatives, and drive continuous improvement.
- Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience
- At least 7 years of experience within a total information technology (IT) environment
- At least 7 years of experience with the design, development and support of technology infrastructure
Skills & Qualifications
- Strong expertise supporting IBM z/OS Storage Infrastructure.
- Experience with Enterprise Storage Arrays (IBM, Dell EMC, Hitachi, Pure, NetApp, HPE, etc.).
- Exposure to Storage Replication and Disaster Recovery technologies.
- Experience with Virtualization, Cloud Infrastructure (AWS/Azure), or Hybrid Platforms.
- Knowledge of Data Lifecycle Management and storage governance.(DFSMS, including SMS, DFHSM, ICF Catalogs, storage groups, and automated data lifecycle management)
- Experience with GDPS, storage replication technologies, high availability architectures, and enterprise disaster recovery solutions.
- Strong understanding of backup, recovery, cyber resiliency, Safeguarded Copy, and data protection best practices.
- Proven ability to perform capacity planning, storage forecasting, utilization analysis, and performance tuning in large-scale environments.
- Experience developing automation, scripting, monitoring, and reporting solutions to streamline storage operations.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with expertise in incident management, root cause analysis, problem resolution, and production support.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills with the ability to create technical documentation, operational procedures, architecture standards, and leadership-ready updates.
Location expectations
This role requires working from a U.S. Bank location three (3) or more days per week.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $119,765.00 - $140,900.00U.S. Bank will consider qualified applicants with arrest or conviction records for employment.
